Unfortunately not as beautiful as on the advertising poster

Beautiful campsite.

Firstly, and most importantly, the location is great. There’s a P&R bus that will take you into the city centre for just 15 cents return. Easy to do and an absolute bargain, just ask at reception and they’ll tell you all the details. There’s a cafe/bar selling pizzas, local beers and hot drinks too which is a really good option. Reasonable prices too. Had to knock one star off because the facilities were’nt up to standard AT ALL. On our visit there was a newly refurbished block, which looked very nice but our closest block was not fit for use. After being made aware that the closest block wasn’t the best one I was pleasantly surprised to see it was very clean and the toilets absolutely fine. However, it was soon apparent that there was no or not enough hot water (my three showers were lukewarm, freezing and tepid, washing up water was always cold), no heating and no external lights either in the walkways to the toilets or over the washing up sinks. Really, really not good enough even if you tell people they are going to be refurbished soon. So on balance, I would stay again but leave the owners enough time to get the facilities up to scratch.

We stayed at this campsite as a family with a dog in spring. A dog area with bathing facilities for dogs gives the impression that dogs are welcome---- But dogs are allowed NOWHERE. Not even on the terrace of the restaurant, not on the asphalted paths at the play park, despite the huge sandy beach at the bathing lake, there is no spot left for dogs, the dog is also not allowed in the indoor area, so you have no chance to get an ice cream together with dog and child. We feel that dogs are only allowed on this site to a limited extent, but welcome means something else to us. The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities leaves a lot to be desired. Children can certainly have fun here. Some external leisure activities possible directly on the site. Swimming pool on the site is fine, but could be cleaner. Conclusion: Without a dog it might be quite nice. With a dog we didn't get to see many things -- we weren't allowed to go because we didn't want to leave our dog alone in hot temperatures. We will definitely not be back.

The well-kept complex is right on the beautiful flat sandy beach and yet quiet. Our 2-person apartment (larger double room with small kitchenette) was very nicely furnished in beach style, only lacked some storage space everywhere but was sufficient for 1 week. The view is unbeatable!

The positives: the place is conveniently located for excursions (hiking, cycling, scooter) in the mountains around San Nicolao. Hot water in shower and sink. Toilet paper available. Toilet seats too (but often full of urine all around 🥴) The negative: no beach. Deposit also for campers (why?). Noisy. Sanitary often dirty. However, the last two points can be attributed to guests without scruples.

We had a Sunset glamping tent (two floors) and three of us (2 adults & 1 child) were there at the beginning of October. Not all tents in this category are in the first row. We therefore asked whether it was possible to change and initially did not enter the tent we were originally allocated. We were lucky and were able to change. Many thanks to the team! We booked without half board as it was too expensive for us. Instead, we made our own breakfast and occasionally enjoyed our evening meal on the terrace of our beautiful accommodation by the sea instead of in the restaurants with lots of other guests. If you bring basic equipment (oil, vinegar, spices, mustard, etc.) from home, you are well equipped to cook on site and don't have to buy everything new. The fridge offers plenty of space and even has a small freezer compartment. The kitchen is well equipped. To start with, there is soap, cloth, sponge and a towel for washing up. We recommend bringing a sharp knife from home. A microwave with "grill function" is available. If you still have space in your car and want to treat yourself to a little luxury, I recommend bringing an airfryer - we used ours a lot ;) There is also a filter coffee machine, but I had my small capsule machine with me. About the temperatures at the beginning of October: It was around 11 °C (± 3 °C) at night. You have to be aware that a glamping tent is still a tent in this respect. You can heat with the air conditioning, although you can hear the outdoor AC unit a little. Noise-sensitive guests may find this annoying, but then a tent is probably not the right choice anyway. We decided to order additional blankets so we had enough warmth without heating. We also had a small fan heater with us to keep us a little warmer while we ate breakfast in the kitchen. Warm clothing is important on windy days, so don't forget to take it with you :) The walk to the main building takes about 12 minutes. If you like it quicker, you can take a scooter with you. For Swiss guests: Two-pole plugs fit without an adapter, for three-pole devices you need an adapter. If you would like to enjoy fine dining out, the Konoba Bare restaurant has an excellent menu. Wine lovers are sure to find what they are looking for at the Damjanić Winery. We really enjoyed our vacation at the campsite!

Great camping

Extremely clean site and toilets and showers. We stayed on a standard pitch, traveling by bikes and staying in a small tent. We got a mixed response from staff as when we checked in we weren't told that some of the standard pitches were shut. Meaning we then had to move all our kit and repitch our tent, which felt tough after a hilly 60km bike and ride to get there. The rest of the staff during our staff were very friendly and helpful though. The downside to the campsite is it is set up for mota homes and not so much for basic campers. We couldn't find anywhere to charge electronics so used a socket in the bathroom, unfortunately when we came back our power bank had been stolen. Another room for improvement was there were no picnic benches for cooking and eating. We don't mind sitting on the ground as we are very used to it, but a shame when you are paying a larger price than other campsites we have stayed on during our 6 week trip. 5 star experience when in a motorhome or car and unfortunately a 3 star experience when traveling on foot/bike. It would be great to see fascilities improved for every camper.

Unfortunately, it is not always possible to the house because the water level is too low.
