Surroundings

Brave the waves and discover the Atlantic coast

The beaches of San Sebastián are among the most beautiful in Spain – and that definitely applies to their surf quality as well. Rent a surfboard at Zurriola Beach or go SUP-ing/kayaking in the calm bays of La Concha and Santa Clara Island. Combine active water fun with a relaxing day at the beach, among locals, surfers, and families. Tip: Zurriola is perfect for both beginners and advanced surfers.

Taste the gastronomy and pintxos of San Sebastián

San Sebastián is world-renowned for its cuisine. In addition to Michelin-starred restaurants, you will find the real Basque experience here in the form of pintxos. On Thursday evenings, stroll through the old town during pintxo-pote, and let yourself be surprised by small dishes on bread, combined with local wine or cerveza. A festive, delicious experience where you can enjoy top-quality street food among the locals.

Immerse yourself in culture, art, music and the underwater world

San Sebastián has a lot to offer for culture enthusiasts. Visit the iconic Kursaal Conference Centre on the boulevard, admire contemporary art at the San Telmo Museum, and stroll by the Peine del Viento sculpture by Chillida – the interplay of art and nature here is magical. Families can visit the Aquarium Donostia with sea life from the Bay of Biscay, while music lovers enjoy the rich program at the Victoria Eugenia Theater. Miramar Palace and the neo-Gothic Buen Pastor Cathedral are also worth a visit. Perfect for a day full of culture alternated with walks through the atmospheric old town.

Head into nature: hiking across Monte Urgull or Santiago route

The surroundings around Wecamp San Sebastián offer plenty of opportunities for hiking. Climb Monte Urgull for a panoramic view over the city and sea – a short, accessible walk from the center. Looking for more of a challenge? Then choose Monte Ulia for wilder coastal trails or start a stage of the Camino de Santiago, which runs right through the region. If you want to take a longer hike, head to Aiako Harria Natural Park (30 min drive), with unique flora, fauna, and impressive views. Prefer a flat route? The walk to Astigarraga via the Loiola river park is perfect for a relaxing stroll, ending at a traditional cider house.

Basically a nice campsite with direct public transport connections to Donostia - San Sebastian. Friendly welcome. Modern facilities. However, for this price I expect a little more: many pitches are very sloping; the toilets are cramped; the light goes out after a few seconds; there are no cabins with a washbasin; the washbasins only have cold water. In this context, I always ask myself whether the operators of this campsite always wash themselves with cold water. Compared to other campsites, I can therefore only give this site 4 stars at most.

Grundsätzlich schöner Campingplatz mit direktem ÖV-Anschluss nach Donostia - San Sebastian. Freundlicher Empfang. Moderne Anlage.
