Guests particularly praise the friendly and helpful staff, who often speak Dutch, German, and English and place great emphasis on personal contact. The beautiful location directly on the water with a private beach and swimming opportunities is frequently mentioned as a major advantage, as are the peace and natural surroundings. The bread delivery service, with fresh bread rolls brought to the camper or tent each morning, and the food (burgers, fries) are highly appreciated. The sanitary facilities are clean and functional, although the facilities are dated and some guests feel a refresh is needed. Some negative experiences concern unfriendly treatment by the owners, additional costs for showers that were not always properly explained, and complaints about maintenance and cleanliness of accommodations.

The campsite is beautiful, very typically Swedish, and located right next to a public swimming area operated by the municipality. Unfortunately, the owner is unfriendly and not very welcoming. We stayed here for one night and, despite the lovely location, we would not come back.
The reception was not accessible without literally climbing over a barrier, as a fence had been placed around it to prevent the owner’s dog from running away. The dog also barked throughout the entire evening.
When checking in, a Camping Key Europe account was created for us, which we were told was “mandatory.” Even though we spelled our names, both our first and last names were entered incorrectly, and the mistakes cannot be corrected.
🟢 Beautiful campsite with a swimming area (although the beach is operated by the municipality, not by the campsite itself).

🔴 No hospitality and an unfriendly attitude
🔴 Very controlling atmosphere. The owner personally escorts every guest to their pitch and makes sure everyone is standing exactly where they are supposed to be. We have stayed at many campsites all across Sweden and have never experienced this before. To us, it felt more controlling than helpful. The owner spent the entire evening taking guests to their pitches, meaning the reception was mostly unattended. It was difficult to relax because she and later her husband kept cycling/wandering around the campsite throughout the evening.
🔴 Poor value for money and incorrect final charge
Apart from the public swimming area and the café at reception (which we did not visit because the building was extremely hot and very dark), there are no facilities or activities for children.
The service building was clearly outdated and, with only three toilets, definitely operating at its capacity. Each toilet also had an awkwardly placed window, allowing people waiting outside to see you while you were using the toilet.
The kitchen was basically nothing more than a collection of sinks. There was hardly any equipment available.
The showers were also in poor condition and had to be paid for separately instead of being included in the camping fee. I added a picture of the shower, a little bit hard to see but it was not clean at all, which is a shame since you had to pay extra for a dirty shower.
At checkout we were charged 360 SEK for a non-electric tent pitch. This was not the price advertised on the website. A misunderstanding can definitely be ruled out, as we were specifically told at checkout: “This is just a basic tent pitch without electricity.” Instead of the advertised 225 SEK, we were charged 135 SEK more.
In my opinion, this is far too expensive considering the condition of the service facilities, and charging a different price from the one advertised is simply unacceptable. Even the advertised 225 SEK would already be expensive, especially considering that the showers are charged separately. That is why I am giving 2 stars instead of 3.
🔴 Responses to reviews
After reading other reviews from guests who had very similar experiences, we noticed that the owners often take criticism very personally and become extremely defensive in their replies. As someone who has worked in the service and tourism industry for many years, I find this highly unprofessional.
In some responses, guests are insulted, one reviewer was even accused of “stealing water,” and in another case, a guest who had posted under a username was addressed by their real name in the owner’s reply. That is completely inappropriate.
I genuinely hope the owners will take the recurring feedback to heart, because it is a real shame for what is otherwise a very charming little campsite. -

A nice, small-scale campground. The owners were incredibly helpful and friendly. We stayed in our tent for two nights, but there was still more to see in the area, so we’ll definitely be back. The restrooms are a bit dated, but otherwise well-maintained. There’s a nice little beach where you can swim. All in all, a great experience!

Leuke, kleinschalige camping.

We had a wonderful stay at this campground and would happily come back. The pitches are set on beautiful green grass, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. One of the biggest highlights is the direct access to the beach, including a separated shallow area that is perfect for children and non-swimmers.
The campground is also pleasantly quiet, making it a great place to unwind. There is a small kiosk where you can order fresh bread rolls for the morning, which is very convenient.
The sanitary facilities are a bit dated but clean and fully functional. Showers are charged separately, which is worth knowing in advance. Unfortunately, we were charged for four showers at checkout even though we had only used the showers once. Since the usage is recorded on the campground card, we expected this to be accurate, so this was a disappointing experience.
A couple of small improvements would make the stay even better. Laundry facilities such as a washing machine and dryer would be a great addition, and the pitches are fairly close together. We also noticed that many guests regularly cut across other people’s pitches instead of using the designated paths. Unfortunately, this sometimes meant people walked very close to our campsite and even past our drying laundry. While this is more about guest behavior than the campground itself, clearer pathways or reminders to stay on the paths could help.
Despite these issues, we really enjoyed our stay. The beautiful location, direct beach access, peaceful atmosphere, and overall experience make this a campground we would still recommend.
