Inside, you’ll find a bright, modern kitchen with an open layout towards the living area. Cook together, chat around the dining table and enjoy the view of the calm lake through the windows. When it gets a bit chilly, light up the fireplace and settle in for a relaxed evening with a drink and good conversation.

The cottage has two bedrooms: one with a double bed and direct access to the back of the house, and another with two single beds. In the separate guest cabin next to the house you’ll find two more single beds – ideal if some of you prefer a bit of extra privacy. The guest cabin is always open and makes the place feel like a tiny friends’ compound in the woods.

The bathroom is newly renovated and equipped with a washing machine, so longer stays are easy and practical. Step outside to the covered terrace, sink into a chair with your morning coffee and enjoy the panoramic view over Lake Älgsjön, no matter the weather.

Just below the house, across a small gravel road, the lake is waiting for you. Go for a refreshing swim or take out the rowing boat and enjoy free fishing on the lake (no nets or boat motors allowed) – it’s all about quiet, slow moments on the water. In the evening, fire up the outdoor grill and gather around the picnic table for a long, laid-back barbecue night.

The area around the cottage is full of options for day trips. Explore more peaceful lakes nearby, or drive to Linköping (55 km) for museums, good food, shopping and culture. Visit the Air Force Museum, wander through Old Linköping in Valla, or check out the cathedral and castle at Borggården. Don’t miss Bergs slussar, the Göta Canal’s largest lock staircase, where you can watch boats pass through, eat ice cream or take a dip.
