EuroParcs Zilverstrand is beautifully situated in the middle of nature with its own beach by the water, where guests can relax and enjoy walks. The staff are often praised for their friendliness and helpfulness, and the location offers a great base for exploring the surrounding area. However, there are concerns about the condition of the swimming pool, which is in urgent need of renovation, and about the overall cleanliness which does not always meet expectations.

First of all, the campground is located in a beautiful area with plenty of places to visit and activities within biking distance, as well as its own entertainment program for the kids. My kids had a great time. However, the safari tent we rented and the nearby restroom building were functional, but that’s about it. The tent seemed to have seen better days. There was a tear in the canvas where our son slept, so we had to cover it on cold nights to keep him from lying in the draft. The wooden platform on which the tent stood wasn’t laid properly either. Halfway through the vacation, my wife and I passed each other, and the floor panel gave way. It was quite a shock, but fortunately, we weren’t hurt. The restroom building was also practically ready for demolition. It was functional and cleaned every day, but otherwise nothing to write home about. For the men, there was only one usable toilet, and almost all the faucets were leaking. The few issues where we needed help from the camp management were handled and resolved quickly, but in my opinion, they could have been prevented—like the gas cylinder that ran out after nine days.
All in all, Zilverstrand has the potential to offer a wonderful vacation, but serious improvements are needed in the facilities, and they need to dot the i’s and cross the t’s when it comes to cleaning and inventory management.
