Hidden among the trees in the forests of Lanklaar, Boshuis het Eekhoorntje is a cosy 2-bedroom chalet for up to 4 guests – ideal for a small family or a couple of friends looking for peace and nature.

You have your own fully enclosed garden, so you can relax in complete privacy. Enjoy your morning coffee on the terrace, fire up the barbecue in the evening, and let kids or dogs roam freely and safely. Up to three pets are welcome, and more are possible on request, so your furry friends don’t have to stay at home.

Inside, the living room is warm and inviting. A gas stove brings extra atmosphere on cooler days, while the satellite TV and radio add some entertainment after a day outdoors. The kitchen is well equipped so you can easily prepare breakfast, a picnic for the trail, or a simple home-cooked dinner.

Nature lovers are in exactly the right place here. Hoge Kempen National Park is just 750 metres from your door, with endless hiking and cycling routes through forests, heathlands and lakes. Fancy a special outing? Visit Steenkolenmijn Valkenburg, the only coal mine in the region you can still explore as a visitor, and dive into the area’s mining history.

A restaurant lies just 1 km away, perfect when you don’t feel like cooking. A supermarket at 5 km makes stocking up on essentials easy. For day trips, head to the Mechelse Heide (4 km) with its purple heathlands or spend time by the water at the nearby lake, around 15 km away.

Before arrival, you can choose an optional utilities and service package of EUR 50. This covers things like final cleaning, utility use, service support and protection against small damages, so you can simply relax and enjoy your stay. Prefer to arrange everything yourself? That’s also fine, as long as you leave the chalet in good condition at check-out.
