Stepping into history at Ooidonk Castle

Take the car and after a 20-minute drive, stand in front of Ooidonk Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Belgium. From April to November, it is possible on Sundays and holidays to take a guided tour of this still-inhabited castle, where you will learn more about the rich history of this medieval fortified castle. In the natural surroundings, you will find endless cycling and walking routes. Less than 2 km from the glamping is the urban nature reserve Bourgoyen-Ossemeersen. This park, which covers 220 hectares, has three hiking trails that take you past beautiful green nature with meadows and forest areas. Tens of thousands of birds perch in this area every year. There are special bird-watching huts along the way where you can spot the most beautiful birds undisturbed.

Plenty of fun at Blaarmeersen Sports and Recreation Park

Glamping at Urban Gardens Ghent means free access to the Blaarmeersen Sports and Recreation Park. In this green park with a large pond, there are plenty of water sports activities to do. Get in a canoe or kayak and paddle up the Leie. Learn to water ski or go pedal boating. For children, there is a water playground with a slide and a sandy beach that completes the recreation park. The recreation park also has a hiking trail where you can completely relax with a hiking mountain and observation tower to admire the surroundings.

    The service was friendly and the plumbing was well maintained but old-fashioned. The location is convenient due to the bus stop right outside the door, ideal for visiting Ghent. However, there was noise from the road, which affected sleep. There are also plans for modernization and there would come separate camper places, hopefully they do something about the drainage of the pitches, these were in many places under water which caused a muddy mess.

    De service was vriendelijk en het sanitair werd goed onderhouden maar was wel ouderwets. De locatie is handig door de bushalte voor de deur, ideaal voor Gent te bezoeken. Wel was er geluid van de weg, wat de nachtrust beïnvloedde. Ook zijn er plannen voor modernisering en er zouden apparte camperplaatsen komen, hopelijk doet men dan ook iets aan de waterafvoer van de kampeerplaatsen, deze stonden op veel plaatsen onder water wat voor een modderige bedoening zorgde.

    Too bad beautiful site but not entrenu therefore too expensive 40e for 2 the night for the winter period not grass not sanded nor gravelled ... Too slushy! No lights on the pitches, just a few steps from downtown and decent sanitary facilities...

    Nous étions en fourgonVan Dommage bel emplacement mais pas entrenu on a l'impression que ça était labourré par des sangliers trop chers 40e la nuit pour 2Pers. pour la période hivernale pas herbe , pas sablé ni gravillauné ... Trop gadoueux ! Pas de lumière sur les emplacements , Juste pratique à quelques pas du centre-ville et sanitaires correct... et surprise pas de coin pour faire la vaisselle (Pas de robinetterie)... Personnel bah vous payez et vous explique après mais y a pas grand chose à expliquer Dommage !!
