Stepping into history at Ooidonk Castle

Take the car and after a 20-minute drive, stand in front of Ooidonk Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Belgium. From April to November, it is possible on Sundays and holidays to take a guided tour of this still-inhabited castle, where you will learn more about the rich history of this medieval fortified castle. Strolling through Ghent

This glamping in East Flanders is less than 5 km from the lively city of Ghent. A city is full of history, old canals, medieval masterpieces, cozy bars, and restaurants. The Graslei and the Korenlei are the oldest and perhaps the most beautiful and cozy places in Ghent. Here you will find many nice catering establishments. Of course, tasting the real Ghent Noses should not be missed. You can find the best ones in one of the carts on the Groentenmarkt.


Venture into nature

In the natural surroundings, you will find endless cycling and walking routes. Less than 2 km from the glamping is the urban nature reserve Bourgoyen-Ossemeersen. This park, which covers 220 hectares, has three hiking trails that take you past beautiful green nature with meadows and forest areas. Tens of thousands of birds perch in this area every year. There are special bird-watching huts along the way where you can spot the most beautiful birds undisturbed.

Plenty of fun at Blaarmeersen Sports and Recreation Park

Glamping at Urban Gardens Ghent means free access to the Blaarmeersen Sports and Recreation Park. In this green park with a large pond, there are plenty of water sports activities to do. Get in a canoe or kayak and paddle up the Leie. Learn to water ski or go pedal boating. For children, there is a water playground with a slide and a sandy beach that completes the recreation park. There is also plenty of fun to be had on dry land. For example, there is a skate park, a climbing rock and you can play mini-golf. For children, there is a large playground with a maze and you can play beach volleyball. The recreation park also has a hiking trail where you can completely relax with a hiking mountain and observation tower to admire the surroundings.

    Idealer Platz für den Besuch von Gent und Brüssel. Grosser Parzellen und relativ ruhig. Stromanschlüsse teilweise sehr weit weg! Rezeption hat Verlängerungskabel. Busstation unweit vom Platz. Abends Pizzas und Frühstück ab 8 Uhr. Fahrradverleih, etwas teuer und uns Rad musste ich zuerst reparieren. Sanitäranlagen teilweise alt und etwas schmudelig. Es hat auch neuere Anlagen, je nach Platz etwas weit weg. Rezeption sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Für eine City- Camping mit ein paar Abstrichen ein Top Platz und in Kürze dürften die Sanitäranlagen renoviert sein. Einkaufsladen ca. 35 Minuten zu Fuss oder allenfalls Bus oder Fahrrad. Es gibt auch E- Bike vor dem Platz zum Mieten über ein App.

    Très bon accueil même sans réservation. Les places sont OK. Par contre, c'est très très bruyant avec la route à côté... Jour et nuit...

    Eigentlich war der Platz längst ausgebucht. Aber die freundliche Rezeptionistin hat nach Rücksprache mit ihrem Chef und und einer persönlichen Erkundung mit dem Rat, ob die Fläche wirklich frei ist, noch einen Stellplatz organisiert, der offiziell eigentlich keiner ist! Darüber hinaus gibt es hier nagelneue und moderne Sanitäranlagen, alten Baumbestand und für einen Großstadt-Campingplatz sehr grüne Stellflächen!

    Terrible campsite. Toilets and showers dirty old and broken. Lots of noise from the motorway and all for €46 a night. Rip-off
