Kompas Camping Nieuwpoort is a large campsite with spacious pitches and many facilities for families. Sanitary facilities and cleanliness are frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating the modern amenities but also noting that cleaning could be more intensive during busy periods. Staff are often experienced as friendly, though there are signals of varying customer service and understaffing. The location near Nieuwpoort and the beach is a strong point, and the pool, restaurant, and entertainment contribute to the stay, although it is noted that the pool does not always feel heated.

Great campground, nice cottage. Lots of rabbits (and droppings), but they didn’t bother us much. It did look really cozy in the mornings and evenings with the rabbits out in the field. The check-in was great and went smoothly. The cottage was nicely cooled by the AC upon arrival. Unfortunately, someone had urinated in the toilet and didn’t flush. It was quite unusual—the urine was even on the bottom of the toilet seat. The beds were made, but the sheets had a lot of stains. When I discovered this and tried to call the front desk, it was already closed. The bathroom smelled awful, and there were frequently sewer flies. Even after showering, these drain flies kept coming back. I did report these issues upon checkout; hopefully, they’ll do something about them. I did find it strange that there were plastic protective covers on the pillows but no mattress protectors at all (?), just a thin fitted sheet over the mattress. If you want to protect the furnishings, a mattress protector wouldn’t be a luxury. Despite the lack of protection, the mattresses were in good condition. There was no vacuum cleaner in the cottage, which was a huge drawback for me. Having to clean everything with a broom and dustpan every time—not very convenient! The fact that the pool is closed for an hour at noon is outdated. We only went swimming in the afternoon. The indoor playground was very small and limited; there was plenty of outdoor play space, but we didn’t use it much because of the heat. The fried food was very good, and the store was adequate (limited selection). Being able to order in advance was very convenient. We had a nice vacation, but not nice enough to make us want to come back.

Prima camping, fijn huisje.

We stayed at this campground with our RV from Friday, August 7, through Monday, August 10.
The price we paid was 136.20 euros, which works out to 45.40 euros per night.
The RV sites are okay and spacious enough, but there are rabbit droppings everywhere. If that’s a deal-breaker for you, you shouldn’t stay here, because the entire campground is littered with rabbit droppings due to a large rabbit population.
Pros include:
This is an ideal campground for parents or grandparents with children or grandchildren.
The restrooms are in good condition with clean toilets and showers and are cleaned at least once a day.
This campground is located near the center of Nieuwpoort, and the area offers beautiful walking and biking trails.
You can also enjoy a delicious meal and a drink at the campground’s tavern.
A clean fry shop with tasty fries and snacks.
Cons:
If you want Wi-Fi, you’ll have to pay for it.
The store is closed between noon and 4 p.m., so if you arrive at 1 p.m. and want to grab something quickly, you’ll have to wait until 4 p.m.
Two of the three pools are heated.
The kiddie pool was ideal, but the large heated pool could use a few more degrees.
There wasn’t a single chair or lounge chair to be found around the pool. So you’re forced to lie on the stones with your towel or on the hard ground of the sunbathing area.
For older people like us, this isn’t an ideal campground.
We’d booked this campground for the pools, but that turned out to be a huge letdown.
For this price, we’d expected at least a lounge chair or regular chair and a warm pool.
So all in all, we were a bit disappointed with this campground.this is a translation, click here for the original

I waited until today to write this because they were going to let me know if there would be any compensation. Of course, I had to call them myself just to be told “no.” Long story short, we rented a cottage, which was ridiculously expensive. And since there were cleaning fees included, you’d expect everything to be in order. But when we arrived (with a 2-year-old), we didn’t even have a fridge in that heat! It was broken, and the house was also dirty and filthy! This was confirmed by the concierge (who went to report it), then by the refrigerator technicians, and later even by the head of the cleaning crew, who actually ran his finger over the oven and saw just how filthy it was! You couldn’t even open the oven door—the dust would fall into the grease. Disgusting. I even wiped down the table and floor with a rag, and he looked on in amazement at how dirty it was! He asked what I should do; I said, “Either I clean everything myself and want compensation, or you send a cleaning crew right now!” I never saw anyone again, so I started cleaning everything myself—I can’t let our little one play in filth, can I? I had to wait until today to hear from Simita at the front desk that they’re not going to do anything! She also knew full well that it was true when I asked upon arrival to have the patio furniture cleaned right away—you couldn’t even sit on it because of the thick dust, dirt, and thick spiderwebs (hey, no, not just a one-day-old web). I want to warn everyone right now that it’s incredibly expensive and truly filthy! It could have been an oversight; I expected an apology and some form of compensation, but not even that! So here’s the one and only truth: spend your money elsewhere. Trust me.

Geloof mij.
