Camping Village Poljana

After our last vacation, I decided to write a few reviews.

Camp Poljana gets one of the best reviews I’ve given so far. Others, like those from the Arena Group in Istria, don’t fare as well!

What can I say?
We discovered the camp by chance three years ago and have been back four times since then—always for seven nights or more.
We just got back from our latest trip and are going back again in September because we love it sooo much.
We have everything we need there, except for the restaurant, which is unfortunately being renovated this year. Hopefully it stays cool and doesn’t get too fancy.🙏🏻
Arriving in Poljana always feels like coming home to us.
It’s a beautiful resort that blends wonderfully into the natural surroundings.
Beautiful, spacious campsites with electricity and chlorine-free water, each bordered by plants.
The restroom facilities are large, clean, and comfortable, with natural light thanks to skylights. There are mirrors, plenty of hooks, storage surfaces, and sinks in every shower stall. There are also plenty of toilets and showers, which are cleaned regularly.

To get to the water, you walk down 3–15 hm into the bay. There is a clothed beach there where dogs are not allowed, though this rule is frequently ignored.

A few meters further on is a small, beautifully landscaped nude beach with small concrete terraces carved into the rock. An official stainless-steel ladder is also available to make it easy to get back ashore.

The bay is great for snorkeling, and there are also a few “Easter eggs” on the seabed at a depth of 7–10 meters (cannon, anchor, treasure chest, shipwreck debris, amphorae), and you can regularly find abalones.

There are freshwater showers at all the beaches.

Unfortunately, at the nude beach, you regularly have to shoo away clothed people, even though the area is clearly marked.

There’s also always trash (bottles, cigarette butts, condoms) on the beach in the morning.
I really don’t understand some people. Why would anyone do that?

The old restaurant was good and affordable, which was really great given the location. Hopefully, that will stay the same at the new one.🙏🏻

Thankfully, there’s no water park or any other entertainment program.
That’s one of the big pluses and the reason why so many people keep coming back here.
Please never change this! It’s practically one-of-a-kind here!🙏🏻

The ice cream shop run by the two young owners is always worth a visit. Great ice cream, good coffee, or even a beer. We’ve also had lots of nice conversations there and even weathered a storm inside the ice cream shop.✌🏻

In my opinion, the market is the only thing at the campground that I have to criticize a bit.
It really has almost everything you need for daily life and beyond.
Sure, a market at the campground is always a bit more expensive, but in my opinion, some of the prices here are already too high.
Well, you don’t have to buy anything—you can always drive to the supermarket. So it’s up to each person to decide.
The pastries we always get are good and taste great.
The vegetables were fresh, too.

What’s unacceptable, though, is that the lady at the register rounds up the tip herself. Example: Something costs €9.39; you pay with a €20 bill, and then you get €10 back.
She does this to adults—and even worse, to children!
Management really needs to keep an eye on this.
Change is often in short supply, and people complain about it
It’s best to pay by card—that way, there’s no problem with involuntary tips or change.

By the way:
We almost always tip, but definitely not when it’s collected automatically!

The manager is on site every day, and you see him here and there.
I think that also plays a big part in why so many things here are really great!
Kudos! Just keep an eye out for the blonde at the market—tipping tip!😉

Everyone at the front desk is also helpful and knowledgeable, and you can get by just fine with English or German.

No matter who you greet at the resort—whether it’s the manager, camp staff, housekeeping, or workers—everyone greets you back warmly.

It’s often the little things that count.

Poljana—Our second home🇦🇹♥️

A beautiful and well-maintained campground; we stayed in cottage number 11, but you should definitely avoid it! It was run-down and full of defects. That said, the tour operator did everything they could, but the accommodations were subpar. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The only thing that bothered us—though I don’t think you can blame the campground for this—was the construction workers building the new reception area. They were checking everything, and that made my wife and daughter feel uncomfortable!

Schöner und vor allem sehr ruhiger Campingplatz.
Ein Stern Abzug, weil im Paradiso leider die 1.Reihe abgeschafft wurde und weil das Restaurant immer noch Baustelle ist.
