Shepherd’s hut - 4 persons

A beautiful, spacious campground with a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and spacious sites. We had a permanent tent with private bathroom facilities, which worked out great.
The location along the Ardèche River is also very nice. There’s a small beach near the campground where you can easily go for a swim in the river.
The village of Saint Martin also has everything you need: a bakery, a few restaurants, takeout spots, nice little markets, and a beautiful location along the river. And it’s not too crowded at all. There’s a small supermarket with a limited selection (you can also get a few basic items at the campground itself). A 5-minute drive across the river takes you to a much larger supermarket, and a 15-minute drive will bring you to some really big supermarkets.

A really nice campground with friendly staff. It was scorching hot when we arrived, but luckily they let us pick a spot in the shade. You can swim in both the pool and the river. The village is within biking distance and has several restaurants, a bakery, and a small grocery store. Canoeing and visiting the Saint Marcel cave are great fun, and hiking to the medieval village across the river is also highly recommended. You can get a fishing permit at the local Office de Tourisme—it was a blast for our 11-year-old son.

A well-maintained campground with large campsites. Our large folding trailer could probably have fit on one of them twice over.
The restroom facilities are often cleaned thoroughly and are well distributed throughout the grounds.
The staff is friendly and speaks English well, and sometimes Dutch.
You can order bread, and it’s of excellent quality.
The children had a great time at the pool, the river, and the playground.
