    We spent 1.5 weeks at the campground with our RV. Beautiful campground in the woods. Nice campground atmosphere. Friendly staff. We had a spacious campsite. The entrance area isn’t very inviting. We didn’t immediately get that vacation feeling when we arrived. The terrace could also be more inviting. The bar and little shop were great. The welcome gathering was fantastic. A glass of wine or lemonade on the house, along with an explanation in French, English, and Dutch. A variety of takeout meals—you don’t see that often in France. Good quality and good service. We tried it three times: twice it was great, once it was less so. We returned the meals and got our money back! Great. Lovely outdoor pool. Nice to have the lounge chairs and options for sun and shade. The indoor pools are nice, too. The little beach is nothing to write home about—we’d expected more from it. There’s nothing to do there. Well-organized entertainment. The arts and crafts activity took up half a morning. You had to drop off your child at 10:00 a.m., leave your contact info, and pick them up again at 12:00 p.m. Just dropping in for a short while wasn’t an option. But they do do fun activities. The bread roll service was great. We weren’t too impressed with the restrooms. Clean restrooms, reasonably clean showers. But not enough hooks and shelves. You’d expect more at a 5-star campground. Gien is a nice place to spend part of the day or enjoy a nice meal out. Plenty of castles in the area. A lovely lake just a 20-minute drive away: Étang de Puits. We didn’t find much in the way of nature in this region. But we had a wonderful time.

    1,5e week met caravan op de camping gestaan. Mooie camping in het bos. Fijne campingsfeer. Vriendelijk personeel. We hadden een ruime kampeerplek. Entree is niet gezellig. We kregen niet meteen een vakantiegevoel toen we aankwamen. Ook het terras kan gezelliger. Bar en winkeltje prima. Welkom bijeenkomst top. Een glaasje wijn of limonade van het huis en uitleg in Frans, Engels en Nederlands. Gevarieerde afhaalmaaltijden, dat zie je niet vaak in Frankrijk. Goede kwaliteit en goede service. 3x gedaan. 2x top, 1x keer minder. Teruggegaan met de maaltijden en kregen ons geld terug! Top. Heerlijk buitenzwembad. Fijn, de ligbedden en zon en schaduwmogelijkheden. Binnen zwembaden zijn ook fijn. Strandje stelt niets voor, daar hadden we meer van verwacht. Je kunt er niets. Goed verzorgde animatie. Knutselen was wel een halve ochtend. Kind brengen om 10.00 uur, gegevens achterlaten en om 12.00 uur weer ophalen. Even kort meedoen was geen optie. Maar ze doen wel leuke dingen. Broodjesservice prima. Sanitair vonden we minder. Schone toiletten, redelijk schone douches. Maar te weinig haakjes en planken. Dat mag uitgebreider op een 5 sterren camping. Gien is leuk om een dagdeel te zijn of lekker uit eten te gaan. Genoeg kastelen in de buurt. Fijn meer op 20 minuten rijden: Étang de Puits. Natuur vonden we in deze streek minder. Maar we hebben het heerlijk gehad.

    A 5-star rated campground??
    Outdoor areas: poorly maintained, untrimmed hedges, some green spaces aren’t even mowed.
    At the pools, many activities are prohibited: Indoor pools: no diving into the pool, no balls.
    Outdoors: no floats allowed, or twice a day for 30 minutes each at specific times.
    The washed gravel around the pool is very unpleasant, especially since flip-flops are prohibited around the pool. It’s also dangerous in case of a fall.

    The restrooms are decent if you’re lucky enough to have hot water for the shower.

    The fishing pond is the best-maintained part of the campground, with new decking on the docks.

    Very disappointed with this 5-star “Castels Campings d’Exception” campground, which is clearly lacking in maintenance.

    We stayed two months ago at the Castels Château de Lez Eaux campground, where it truly deserved its 5 stars.

    Camping classé 5 étoiles ??
    extérieur : non entretenu, haies non taillées, certains espaces verts ne sont même pas tondus.
    Aux piscines beaucoup de choses sont interdites : intérieur : aucun saut dans la piscine, aucun ballon.
    A l'extérieur : aucunes bouées ou 2 fois 30mn dans la journée à des horaires spécifiques.
    Béton en gravillons lavés autour de la piscine très désagréable surtout que les tongues sont interdites autour de la piscine. C'est de plus dangereux en cas de chute.

    Sanitaires corrects si vous avez la chance d'avoir de l'eau chaude pour la douche.

    L'étang de pêche est la partie la mieux entretenue du camping avec des planches récentes sur les pontons.

    Trés déçu de ce camping 5 étoiles "Castels campings d'exception" qui manque clairement d'entretien.

    Nous avons séjourné il y a 2 mois au camping Castels Château de Lez Eaux ou celui ci méritait réellement ses 5 étoiles.

    A great family-friendly campground we’ve been coming to for the past 3 years! The staff is always attentive and very friendly. The facilities are perfect for kids and adults alike. The mobile homes are functional. The activities offered are varied and suitable for all ages. In short, we love coming back here, and this year the food is excellent.

    Un super camping familial où l' on vient depuis 3 ans! Le personnel toujours à l' écoute et très sympa. Les infrastructures idéales pour petits et grands. Les mobil homes fonctionnels.
