Huttopia Calvados - Normandie

Over the years, I’ve visited quite a few Huttopia campgrounds. Unfortunately, this one won’t make it into my top 10. There’s only one restroom building for the entire campground, and it’s poorly maintained—many toilet seats are loose. Then Huttopia tells me I can report this at the front desk, but don’t the cleaning staff see this every day anyway?? Cleaning is supposed to happen three times a day. That’s what the rules say, but the reality is quite different.
We were just passing through, staying for two days to bridge the gap. Huge campsite. Great.
As someone else already mentioned, the trees in a large part of the campground are too small to provide any significant shade. Planting a few plane trees wouldn’t be a bad idea. Napoleon already knew that.
The terrace next to the pool is fairly large. You order your drinks from a food truck, which is fine. However, the only shade comes from umbrellas, and those are few and far between. Shade sails or canopies would give the whole area a much better look.
The pool is fine—not big, but big enough to cool off.

Thanks for the spacious campsite and clean restrooms. The atmosphere at the campground was great and exuded peace and space.

There’s a performance once a week—it’s really fun to attend. Huttopia Calvados helped make my vacation wonderful!

A warm and welcoming staff who went out of their way to help us and gave excellent advice about the region. (Thanks for telling us where to inflate our car tires! 😄) A picturesque and relaxing spot, perfect for exploring the coast, of course, as well as the beautiful rolling countryside. Pure bliss!

It's a bit pricey, and the spot is right next to the restroom with no shade.
