Visit Les Eyzies
The nearest village of Les Eyzies is 2 km from the campground and is famous for its many caves with prehistoric wall paintings. In the center of the village is an old fortress built against the rock face. Inside you will find the museum of prehistory. Besides history, Les Eyzies has many nice restaurants and stores. In high season there are village festivals with music, good food and, of course, wine.

The campground is located in a hilly area with forests, farmlands and flowing rivers. You can go for beautiful walks, mountain biking or horseback riding. Are you looking for adventure? Then rent a canoe and sail up the Vézère or the Dordogne. Or join the quad bike ride organized once a week at the campground. In short, there is plenty to do.
Discover the prehistoric caves
Les Eyzies-de-Tayac is also considered the capital of prehistory. The caves with murals tell you stories about the way of life at that time. Nearby you will find several caves with murals such as the Font de Gaume (3 km), Cap Blanc (5 km) and cave du Sorcier (8 km). There are also caves with beautiful drop formations such as the Grand Roc (3 km), Gouffre de Proumeyssac (13 km) and Grotte de Maxange (22 km). In high season, guided tours are also regularly organized to Grotte de Bernifal, 5 km from the campsite. This beautiful private cave is still in its original state, with stalactite formations and prehistoric paintings dating back 15,000 to 20,000 years.
Visit one of the medieval villages
Because the Dordogne escaped the industrial revolution, numerous medieval villages can still be found. The village of Sarlat is the undisputed pearl of Périgord. With its beautiful historic town center, the St. Sacerdos Cathedral and the Présidenal Palace, the village is definitely worth a visit and only 23 km from the campsite. A little further, 25 km from the campsite, is La Roque-Gageac. This is one of the most beautiful villages in France built on a cliff. The village is known for medieval and renaissance architecture. Be sure to visit the gardens of Marqueyssac with its cliffs and panoramic view of the river.

Mooie camping, midden in het groen in een prachtige omgeving. Accommodatie Cabana Lodge was fris, gezellig, nieuw. Vooral leuk voor gezinnen met kinderen onder de 10 jaar, voor oudere kinderen weinig te doen. Mooie wandelingen vanuit de camping te maken. Uitzonderlijk vriendelijk personeel

Wij hebben in december op deze camping geboekt; een plek met privé-sanitair met onze caravan, van 30 juli tm 7 augustus. Bij aankomst was de route niet duidelijk aangegeven, zodat we weer bij de receptie uitkwamen na een lastig parcours met caravan (bij toegangsweg 1 en 2 stonden bordjes. Wij konden ons niet voorstellen dat we er bij de derde afslag, waar een soort vuilnisbelt met bijbehorend aroma lag en geen bordje stond, af moesten slaan). Uiteindelijk fietste de jongen bij de receptie voor ons uit naar onze plek. C6. Het laatste plekje, eind bospad, middle of nowere. Tegenover een soort put waar zo te ruiken het riool op uitkwam van alle huisjes op de camping. De stank was echt erg. Het sanitairhok had een erg gammel trappetje en er was geen verlichting op het pad of bij het sanitair. Aangezien we 81,62 euro per nacht moesten betalen, al snel aangegeven dat we dit beneden peil vonden. Eerder genoemde René heeft ons een vervangend huisje aangeboden, maar dan moesten we alles verhuizen en onze caravan achterlaten. De man was erg aardig, maar uiteindelijk konden we gelukkig op een andere camping terecht en hebben we maar genoegen genomen met 100 euro cashback. 4 nachten voor niks betaald en drie nachten in de stank gezeten... De laatste avond meegedaan aan de 'burgeravond'. Voor 18 euro een burger besteld. Na anderhalf (!!!) uur wachten burger met koude friet gekregen. Maar verkeerde burger, die toen weer geruild moest worden. Nou ja!!!

Wat een prachtige plek. Mooie natuur. Maar wat een ellende. Je krijgt een plek naast een circustent. Als die is vertrokken om 21 uur begint er een band die knoerdhard speelt. Kinderen kunnen niet slapen van de herrie en wij ook niet. Bizar.

we stood with a caravan on a pitch, but one of the most beautiful in the entire area and with the nicest owners and employees we have ever encountered on a campsite. we have been going to camping Le Pech Charmant for years, sometimes twice a year. the food is delicious and the sanitary facilities are fantastically clean. The swimming pool is nice and not cold in april/ may till september
