A natural setting in the middle of the dunes. Pleasantly quiet. Good restroom facilities and friendly staff. The ocean is within walking distance.

A beautiful, nature-oriented campground with great proximity to the beach—you can get into the water really quickly. The staff was also consistently friendly and helpful. We had a bit of bad luck with our campsite right next to the compost bin, which unfortunately gave off a bit of an odor. The restrooms could have used some improvement, too; the floor could have been cleaned more often. If we’d had a campsite further back, we’d definitely come back!

It was another wonderful stay at this special place. Unfortunately, there were no shaded spots again, even though we had specifically requested them when booking. The restrooms were always clean, though there weren’t enough toilets at Washhouse 3.
Otherwise, it’s a very special place. The location by the sea and near town is unbeatable. We’ll definitely be happy to come back.this is a translation, click here for the original

Amazing location for camping, Disappointing stay – Severe hygiene issues, main point.
We stayed at Huttopia Ars-en-Ré expecting a relaxed, family-friendly camping experience, but unfortunately, several major issues made our stay deeply uncomfortable despite booking this camping months ahead we were treated with a third rang backpacker spot.
Unbearable Odor at the Pitch: Our assigned spot was right next to maceration waste bins. Throughout the day, a foul smell of rotting food wafted over our area. Managing this with young kids was an absolute nightmare.
If you come here with your family and newborns the staff doesn’t hesitate to put you next to the staff accommodation, entrance gate and worst of all these maceration bins.
Dirty Sanitary Facilities: The first sanitary building consistently reeked of urine, particularly in the shower area. Toilet bins were almost always stuffed… It was rarely cleaned properly during our stay, making a basic shower an unpleasant task. The setup is also highly outdated and allows for -100% privacy when doing your things. (Really a different experience on other Huttopia campings)
Lack of Rule Enforcement & Early Morning Noise: Our neighbors were allowed to keep a loud motorcycle directly on the campsite. They would start it up early in the morning just to run out for groceries. Why staff didn't enforce a rule requiring loud vehicles to park exclusively outside the campsite area is a total mystery.
Overly Casual Staff: While the staff were friendly enough, they were far more in a party mood than focused on work ethos or actually managing the grounds and enforcing basic campsite rules.
Cat poop-
On top we saw a cleaning staff member walking her cat in the sand next to our spot letting this little kitten dig in a little poopie surprise for a playing child… this was just disgusting.
Stale Breakfast Service: The morning croissants—supposedly sourced fresh from a local bakery—were frequently stale and clearly not fresh that day.
For what we payed in total for this experience it was overpriced.
This was my 4th Huttopia camping visit..
Our second visit during this trip was on another Huttopia in les chalets and this was a far more hygienic experience. Sanitary standards seem to differ massively per camping site…
