These unique, spear-shaped rock formations were created by erosion of soft rock, leaving the hard rock behind as jagged chimneys. As you walk through this fantasy landscape, you feel as if you have entered another world. A special experience for young and old that should not be missed!

The campsite enjoys a stunning location on the crystal-clear Lac de Serre-Ponçon with spectacular views of the lake and mountains. Guests appreciate the direct water access, spacious pitches, and friendly staff. The central plaza with bar and pizzeria creates a relaxed atmosphere. Areas for improvement include the sanitary facilities which are often too small and insufficiently clean, lack of hot water, poor road conditions with potholes, and sewage odors in certain locations. High prices, limited activities, and the absence of bins throughout the site are also frequently mentioned as drawbacks.

Beautiful surroundings, lovely campground—especially the accommodations. Campsites are lined up in a row without partitions and offer little shade, though they do have a view of the lake.
Most of the accommodations with restrooms are located high up on the campground. Not ideal with small children because it’s quite a steep climb. If you don’t want to walk back and forth several times, you’ll have to carry everything with you and park your car down below (in the public parking lot near the public beach). It is, however, beautifully situated with lovely views and comfortable accommodations featuring a blackout inner tent for the sleeping area.
The campground is located on a quiet part of the lake. The advantage is that it’s green and peaceful; the downside is that the supermarket is a half-hour drive away. There aren’t many charming villages nearby.this is a translation, click here for the original

We’re currently on vacation at the Huttopia Serre-Ponçon campground, and we’re enjoying this beautiful spot. The staff is very friendly, and the pool is very clean. The campground is very pleasant. It’s a shame, though, that our site doesn’t have any shade—other than what our tent provides. As a result, it’s unbearable (the power supply to our cooler actually overheated), which is a real shame. When I made the reservation in January and requested a shaded site, I was hoping they’d be a little more accommodating.

They deducted the weekend fee plus another amount from us... No one competent to answer us; the first person we spoke to asked for an email with proof of the second charge—so far, nothing out of the ordinary. We sent the email with proof, then got a call from management, who didn’t understand this additional charge and said they’d have to contact headquarters. We haven’t heard back since. During our last call, I was told to wait for a callback, and now…...No one’s answering!!! We’re going to have to waste even more time just to finally get an explanation—and, more importantly, a refund for the... Too bad—it’s not very professional. We definitely won’t be coming back.

What a Fluttopia! After previous visits to other Huttopia campsites, we were disappointed here.
The location by the lake is fantastic, with plenty of mountain and water sports options nearby. The villages are a bit far away.
But the service at the campground is subpar. Clearly not a good manager—it’s run by summer workers who don’t take responsibility and just pass the buck, or at least don’t look any further into things. The theme is basically “nobody knows.”
Four days of cold water. (Apologies about Sunday, July 14, etc., but this is really very disruptive). No one seems to be addressing the issue. A septic tank that stinks terribly.
Trash cans overflowing.
Long wait times at the bar/pizza place.
The restroom building is kept only moderately clean; there’s often no toilet paper. Dirty sinks. Clogged drains in the sinks and no night patrol, so drunk and rowdy people can just do as they please. When there are a lot of people in the pool, the water gets really dirty.
This campground has tremendous potential, but the way it’s currently run is unworthy of Huttopia. The owners of the chain would be ashamed if they saw this.this is a translation, click here for the original

After a 12-hour drive, we arrived on July 10, 2026, around 11:30 a.m., with a trailer in tow and our three children
We checked in at the front desk: we had to wait an hour. No problem ☺️, we understand. However, the public parking lot was absolutely packed—not a single spot left... I asked if I could park my car in the campground’s staff parking lot ---> access denied (by Auriane), even though that lot was practically empty. We try our best to park, but it’s still not possible, and on top of that, I damage the rear bumper of my car with the trailer....the vacation is off to a great start.
Time passes, and we finally head back in an hour.
We’re finally enjoying our vacation!
July 14! Yay, it’s Bastille Day, but that’s not all. It’s also my birthday—I’m turning 46. That evening brought a cold shower: we lost the World Cup soccer semifinal, but it was a cold shower in the literal sense, too....No water in the bathrooms—no bathrooms at all!
We wait until the next morning, July 15.
---> Still no hot water... no signs, no information. I went to the front desk to explain the situation:
“Yes, we know; a technician is supposed to come by tonight.” 😳
No apologies, no solutions offered—nothing!
I’m leaving out July 13… the gate at the campground entrance was broken—a total fiasco trying to get in.
Oh yeah....on July 14, we ordered and paid for just one pizza for three people, so we had to settle for appetizer platters....Happy birthday, and long live Huttopia!
Our stay was booked under the name Leroy/Judas Deborah, from July 10 to 20, 2026.
This is our fifth time at a Huttopia campground, under different bookings—it might very well be the last time.this is a translation, click here for the original
