Sandaya Le Pianacce

We had a pleasant stay at the Piannacce campground. The site we had was perfect—a beautiful view and close to the pool and restaurant...(though I wouldn’t have liked being all the way at the top). The housekeeping was okay but could be better—for example, they could have cleaned the floor. The pool was nice, and the swimming float was a big plus that made our kids laugh, given how little entertainment there was.
As for the entertainment, it didn’t live up to Sandaya’s standards at all—it was way too quiet; it was just “chill, chill.” Even the evening entertainment wasn’t great; there was practically no music by the pool and none at all in the restaurant, and the entertainers were on their phones and barely said “hello.” This was the biggest downside of our stay and the reason we won’t be coming back.
The restaurant was very good, and the staff was friendly, just like at the front desk.

A great experience in the countryside, though there are a few minor details that could be improved.

We spent a week at Camping Le Pianacce staying in an apartment with our dog, and all in all, it was a positive experience.

The campground is well-organized and truly offers everything you need so you won’t lack for anything during your vacation: the pool area is very pleasant, the convenience store is handy, and there’s a nice overall atmosphere. Staying under the pine forest, moreover, is simply fantastic: the shade and the fresh air there immediately give you that vacation feeling.

A special mention for the restaurant: we really loved it! It has a stunning view directly overlooking the pool and serves fabulous pizza—exactly the way we like it: thin and crispy.

To be honest, though, there are a few things that could be improved to make the stay perfect:

* Mobile Homes and Amenities: It would be helpful to have a few more windows in the units; with the summer heat (especially at night), you’re practically forced to keep the air conditioning on all the time because there’s not enough airflow. Furthermore, it would take very little to make the accommodations more complete, such as providing a simple tablecloth for the table on the small terrace.

* Sports area: It’s located outside the campground’s perimeter and could use some renovation (fitness center and sports fields). Since it’s separate from the main facility, it’s harder for people to get together or for kids to socialize spontaneously.

* Dog area (Doggyland): The idea of a dog-walking area is excellent, but it should be maintained with more care. Unfortunately, some guests also lack a sense of civic responsibility: every time we went there with our dog, we first had to pick up the waste left by others before we could enjoy the space in peace.

Overall, it’s a pleasant place to stay that gave us a wonderful, relaxing week. With a few minor tweaks to the layout and maintenance of the areas dedicated to pets and sports, it would be exceptional.

We payed extra for a comfort pitch of "minimum 60m²".
At arrival the place we got was only 40m².
Personnel at the reception was not friendly or helpfull at all, but blamed it on errors on the site of Sandaya. They were very reluctant to help finding a solution.
After lots of discussion and moving 2 times, we still haven't got what we paid for.

A very nice campground in a peaceful setting, with a very friendly welcome and attentive, kind staff.
However, the restrooms are showing their age, and the cleanliness is unworthy of a Sandaya campground.

Beautifully located campground, with average amenities.
The campground is nestled against a hill. We stayed in a Premium Cottage, which are very nice, new, and fully equipped. One downside is that you’re close to your neighbors, so there’s little privacy. We were practically at the very top, which gave us a beautiful view of the sea and the town (few accommodations have that view). The downside is that you have to walk up and down the entire steep hill to get anywhere. There’s a shuttle that can take you up and down, but it takes a 4-hour siesta, so we couldn’t use it much. Not a major letdown, though. The mediocre facilities are more of a drawback. The pool is okay, but it could use a makeover; in hot weather, it’s too small for the number of people, and there aren’t enough lounge chairs and umbrellas. The mini-golf course is a shadow of its former self, and the soccer and table tennis areas are outside the campground, so it’s an even longer walk. Nobody uses those facilities. We didn’t use the beach shuttle because it ties you to a schedule. There are plenty of small beaches you can get to on your own. The surroundings are beautiful, with more than enough sights to see nearby (a perk of Tuscany).
