Surroundings

Open Air Museum Robbesscheier!

Visit the enchanting Robbesscheier Open Air Museum! Enter a world full of fascinating traditions and discover rural Luxembourg life. Explore craft workshops, meet farm animals and learn about ancient customs. Enjoy educational demonstrations and taste local delicacies. Located near the village of Munshausen (near Clervaux), a 7-minute drive from the campground, the museum is a fun outing for the whole family.

Visit Bastogne (30 km)

Bastogne, also known as Bastogne, is an atmospheric old town with charming stores, squares and, last but not least, two museums dedicated to the Ardennes Offensive during World War II. Bastogne played a crucial role in pushing back German troops, with the Allies continuing their advance from this city. The Bastogne War Museum, located in this region, is the premier museum about World War II in the Ardennes and Belgium.

Put on your hiking boots

Camping Val d'Or offers a range of hiking opportunities, with routes of various heights and lengths worthwhile all year round. Three routes of 16, 8 and 5 kilometers depart from the campground, respectively. The nearby villages have trails that begin as early as 1.5 kilometers away. Located on the Escapardenne Eisleck Trail, the campground is the starting point for this famous 106-kilometer hike, from Kautenbach to La-Roche-en-Ardenne, through the beautiful Ardennes countryside. The Lee Trail, an addition in 2015, adds 53 kilometers to this route, from Kautenbach to Ettelbruck. Divisible into three stages, this trail offers a constant alternation of historic villages, breathtaking Ardennes scenery and serene natural areas.

Vianden and Vianden Castle (30-minute drive)

When the "Oranges" were still rulers of Luxembourg, the castle was known as the "Orange Castle," but today as Chateau Vianden. The most beautifully restored castle in Luxembourg where medieval festivities take place during the summer vacations. Time flies when you visit Vianden. The winding Our River traverses the old town, with cozy terraces along its banks. Take the chairlift to the top of the hill and enjoy the view of the valley and the castle. The area also invites walks, adventures in the "Indian Forest" climbing forest, or a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool overlooking the old castle. On the way back, a visit to the Hydropower Plant, just outside the town along the Our River, is a must.

A spectacular place! With an unbeatable treatment and cleanliness. The reception has short opening hours and does not have many things to buy there, or nearby. It is advisable to bring some lunch or dinner. There is a 24 hour pizza kiosk. And the rooms come with coffee maker and water heater. We spent 2 nights in a small house with a sofa bed (very comfortable), a small table and two chairs. Outside you have a fire to warm you up at night. The showers and bathrooms are spotless. And they give you a cleaning kit. It also has some kitchenware, cutlery, plates and glasses, (something basic). The environment is very quiet, but has a direct bus, the train passes by the campsite but does not stop there. The transports to get there are fast and efficient, and there are every few minutes during the week and every hour on weekends. The 2 of us would come back without hesitation. Goku was very comfortable and disconnecting 100x100. Follow us on networks Goku doing cosis. For more cool plans.

Spent 1 night here in mid-March while walking the Eislek trail. Friendly owner. I indicated I wanted to camp and only had a tarp with me. It was no problem if I attached it to a tree to make a shelter. Unfortunately it rained all day/night so didn't do much camping. Clean plumbing. Train passes right by the campground, fortunately not at night. Beautiful surroundings.

Mooie omgeving.

Customer friendly and service! I wanted to spend a night here with my motorcycle and tent, unfortunately this was not possible because due to the season the grass field was still too wet. (Was still under water 3 days ago according to owner) The owner spoke to me nicely on Sunday afternoon and gave me advice which campsite will probably already have the tent field in use. The reviews you mostly read is that they are unfriendly, here it certainly does not look like it!!! Secretly I was disappointed because from what I could see so soon the location along the water was beautiful!
