AquaZoo Friesland
AquaZoo Friesland is an animal park in Leeuwarden, about a 40-minute drive from the glamping in Rohel. The park specializes in aquatic animals. The park has different habitats where animals live, such as the "Wad" where you can see different shorebirds, the "Coral Reef" where tropical fish swim and the "Sea Lion Theater" where sea lions give a show. In addition, AquaZoo Friesland also has a large playground and an "expedition" section where you learn about the lives of different animal species and their ecosystems. Joure is best known as the home of Douwe Egberts, the world-famous coffee brand. You can take a tour of Douwe Egberts' museum, learn more about the history of coffee and, of course, have a nice cup of coffee at the end. The city has a cozy and attractive center with many nice restaurants, cafes and stores. Many events are held in the summer, such as the Frisian Balloon Festival and the Jouster Merke, a traditional folk festival. During the Balloon Festival, about 35 hot air balloons take off and various other activities are organized.

What started with one time close camping became the 3rd time coming back already. The clean grounds & shower/toilet building, the friendly and welcoming owners (and daughters) the opportunity to brush and ride the ponies, a clear field with play area and spacious pitch makes us and the kids want to come back here again and again. The wifi connection is much improved over last year! Definitely worth 5 stars!

Wat begon met een keer dichtbij kamperen werd nu al de 3e keer terug komen. Het schone terrein & douche/ toilet gebouw, de vriendelijke en gastvrije eigenaren (en dochters) de mogelijkheid tot het poetsen en rijden van de pony’s, een overzichtelijk veld met speelgelegenheid en ruime plaats maakt voor ons en de kinderen dat ze hier steeds weer terug heen willen. De wifi verbinding is sterk verbeterd tegen over vorig jaar.! Zeker 5 sterren waard!

Super nice campsite with good and very clean sanitary facilities. Close to the caravan a water tap and good relaxing service. Our daughter could enjoy horseback riding and even jumping. Nearby all nice Frisian villages and towns and near the Tjeukemeer. Friendly owners. We will come back for sure! In short, a great vacation!

Super leuke camping met goed en heel schoon sanitair. Vlakbij de caravan een watertappunt en goede relaxte service. Onze dochter kon er heerlijk paardrijden en zelfs springen. In de omgeving allemaal leuke Friese dorpen en steden en vlakbij het Tjeukemeer. Vriendelijke eigenaren. Wij komen vast en zeker nog wel een kaartje terug! Kortom een leuke vakantie!
