Tiny Beach House - 2 persons

We had a cup of coffee here during our bike ride. It was nice sitting by the little beach near the restaurant. Great location.

We stayed for one and a half weeks at EuroParcs Bad Hoophuizen, but unfortunately, our accommodation was so disappointing that we decided to leave early.

The biggest issue was the cleanliness. The house was extremely dirty and dusty, with cobwebs everywhere – more than I have ever seen in a holiday accommodation. There was dust on almost … every surface, including the radiators, and dead insects inside the light fixtures. The bathroom had mould in several places, and the ventilation system was so clogged with dust that it did not work properly. There were also stains on the beds, and the mattresses felt damp. The two bedrooms were very small and dark, and the house was extremely noisy due to the thin walls. Even though we booked bed linen and towel service, the overall condition of the accommodation was unacceptable. We felt that we had to clean everything ourselves before we could even feel comfortable.

Another major problem was a persistent, unpleasant smell throughout the house. There were around ten scented candles and fragrance pads placed everywhere, seemingly to cover it up. We reported the issue to reception, but we did not feel that our complaint was taken seriously at first. A technician eventually came and made some adjustments. The smell improved, but the problem was never fully resolved.

We also paid extra for a location by the water, expecting access to the lake. Instead, our view was of a small stream, partly covered by a terrace, with no proper access to the water. This was very disappointing and not what we had expected when paying extra.

The kitchen equipment was adequate, but many surfaces were sticky. Overall, we never got that holiday feeling, and the poor condition of the accommodation seriously affected our relaxation.

To be fair, the holiday park itself is very well maintained and clean. The swimming pool and sauna are lovely, and the mini-market is well stocked. Unfortunately, these positives could not make up for the state of our accommodation.

For a holiday park at this price level, we expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and service. It felt as though the house had barely been cleaned before our arrival. We would not book this accommodation again. Read more Show less

Horrible hygiene. Dead flies, mold, tiny lot at Cube 6—not like in the photo. The neighbor is 3 meters away. Restaurants closed due to staff shortages. The sails on the two catamarans are torn, so they won't be available for several days. The kiddie pool is closed.
