    I was very much looking forward to my stay at Resort Oesterdam. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly reception at the front desk, the luxurious feel of the room and the peaceful location on the harbor. Unfortunately, the experience thereafter was overshadowed by a number of issues not befitting the price level of this hotel. Night rest and service: The ventilation in the room made so much noise that I barely slept. When I brought this up the next day, I didn't feel like I was really taken seriously. It was suggested that I should just close the window (while it was closed at night) and was told that this complaint had never come up before. However, when I later read previous reviews, I saw that this is a known and recurring problem. I also read in a review that the ventilation can be turned off centrally, but since the reception is unoccupied in the evening and at night, this makes little sense. I found the compensation at check-out (one breakfast) to be service-oriented, but disproportionate to the poor night's sleep in an expensive suite. Wellness and resort: The wellness was unfortunately disappointing: the sauna did not heat up properly and there was water everywhere (probably due to other guests). The resort is presented online a lot more luxurious than it feels in reality. Hospitality on the terrace: As a solo traveler, I did not feel very welcome on the terrace. I was not allowed to sit at a table in the sun because they were "reserved", but a couple that came right after me (without a reservation) was allowed to sit there. This gives the impression that as a guest who comes alone (and thus orders less) you are less appreciated. Conclusion: The room and location have a lot of potential, but due to poor communication, failure to acknowledge and resolve known problems and lack of genuine hospitality, it was not worth the high price for me. Too bad!

    Ik keek erg uit naar mijn verblijf bij Resort Oesterdam. Bij aankomst was ik aangenaam verrast door de vriendelijke ontvangst bij de receptie, de luxe uitstraling van de kamer en de rustgevende ligging aan de haven. Helaas werd de ervaring daarna overschaduwd door een aantal zaken die niet passen bij het prijsniveau van dit hotel. Nachtrust en service: De ventilatie op de kamer maakte zoveel lawaai dat ik nauwelijks heb geslapen. Toen ik dit de volgende dag aankaartte, voelde ik me niet echt serieus genomen. Er werd geopperd dat ik het raam maar dicht moest doen (terwijl dit 's nachts dicht was) en er werd gezegd dat deze klacht nooit eerder was gekomen. Toen ik later eerdere reviews las, zag ik echter dat dit wel een bekend en terugkerend probleem is. Ook las ik in een review dat de ventilatie centraal uitgezet kan worden, maar aangezien de receptie 's avonds en 's nachts onbezet is, heeft dat weinig zin. De compensatie bij het uitchecken (één ontbijt) vond ik servicegericht, maar niet in verhouding staan tot de slechte nachtrust in een dure suite. Wellness en resort: De wellness viel helaas tegen: de sauna werd niet goed warm en overal lag water (waarschijnlijk door andere gasten). Het resort wordt online een stuk luxer gepresenteerd dan het in werkelijkheid aanvoelt. Gastvrijheid op het terras: Als solo-reiziger voelde ik me niet heel welkom op het terras. Ik mocht niet aan een tafeltje in de zon zitten omdat deze "gereserveerd" zouden zijn, maar een stel dat direct na mij kwam (zonder reservering) mocht daar wel plaatsnemen. Dit geeft de indruk dat je als gast die alleen komt (en dus minder bestelt) minder gewaardeerd wordt. Conclusie: De kamer en de locatie hebben veel potentie, maar door de gebrekkige communicatie, het niet erkennen en oplossen van bekende problemen en het gebrek aan echte gastvrijheid, was het voor mij de hoge prijs niet waard. Jammer!

    I booked a wonderful 1-night get-away with my infant son. 1-on-1 time together with no distractions. We enjoyed the surroundings together by riding back and forth to Tholen on an e-chopper. In the evening we had a delicious dinner, both the fine dining for me and a nice children's menu for Daan. All what top! Then took some drinks to our suite, where I looked out over the water while he watched a movie from the tub! From start to finish, check in to goodbye, it was a top experience which felt like a week's vacation!

    Ik heb samen met mijn zoontje een heerlijke get-away van 1 nachtje geboekt. Samen 1 op 1 tijd zonder afleiding. We hebben samen genoten van de omgeving door op een e-chopper heen en weer naar Tholen te rijden. 's Avonds heerlijk gegeten, zowel de fine dining voor mij als een lekker kindermenu voor Daan. Alles wat top! Vervolgens wat drinken mee naar onze suite genomen, waar ik over het water uitkeek terwijl hij een film keek vanuit het bad! Van begin tot eind, inchecken tot afscheid, het was een top ervaring welke voelde als een vakantie van een week!
