After numerous positive reviews, I unfortunately have to write a sobering and unfortunately negative review here, even after complaining on site and subsequently complaining to Huttopia online, because the price-performance ratio is massively (!!!) out of kilter! Everything is quite new, but is poorly maintained due to too few staff or poor standards. Dust everywhere from the dry earth, but it is not cleaned thoroughly, so DUST everywhere. Some doors are jammed, dust (real) in every corner if you look, the common room is careless, washing machines are unhygienic but expensive. Most of the trolleys damaged due to quality and rust. Repaired, but broke just as quickly. The play area was full of old, broken equipment (table tennis bats, badminton, no or broken balls etc.). The SUPs & surfboards are great, but only 3 or 2. The bodyboards are mostly broken. Fortunately, they regularly leave them behind for guests! Queuing for the showers in the evening, you have to be lucky if there is any hot water left. My kids had to take cold showers at a fresh 18° outside temperature. Washing dishes hardly possible with cold water. Toilets disgusting, unhygienic condition! My child came back with confused pants & that was not from us. Cleaning was only superficial, if at all. Toilet paper empty regularly and the showers garnished with hair, sand and blocked drains 🤢 Simply disgusting! We had booked the Canadienne, so no running water & no toilet/shower. Terrace dusty, upholstery dirty, floor covered in grease splashes. Clammy inside, also due to the location of the Huttopia. Clouds form quickly behind the dunes and due to the cold sea wind and the humidity rises extremely when the dew point is high. After 11 days, I had a moldy newspaper in my rucksack. Leave your clothes in your suitcase! You can also tell by the poor quality beds, which rusted away shortly after reopening! We were missing 2 covers which never arrived. The staff were sometimes cheeky when we complained or just smirked rudely. I would like to single out one member of staff who was super: with a beard and did a really great program for and with the children - thank you! We moved to the not really more expensive Trappeur, which of course avoids the problems described above because it has its own bathroom/WC. But we were shocked by the price-performance ratio! About the location: Don't come without a car! There is pizza on site, but that's it. You can walk along the road to the little village, but it's about 15-20 minutes and dark at night. The lagoon is NOTHING to swim in, especially with children. Lots of algae, an unsightly "beach" and very shallow water. Where it gets deeper, there is a strong (!!!) current. The walk to the beach is at best 40, more likely 50 minutes through mostly sand. Have fun if you want to take a tent or toys with you. It all looks great on GoogleMaps, but is very sobering in practice. It was our first time at Huttopia and probably our last. We had hoped for more in a newly opened hut. What a pity! Our complaint was not dealt with at all, just argued away. That's not good customer service, that's how you drive customers away!
