On our summer vacation 2025, we camped here for almost 3 weeks. The great thing about this campsite is its location. Just off the shores of the Wadden Sea and opposite the southern tip of Rømø. From the campsite you have more than enough to see with a circumference of half an hour by car. Are you a cycling or hiking enthusiast? Then Ballum Camping is also a great starting point. And are you unsure about your Danish? No problem, the reception staff also speak German, English and Dutch. Oh and not to forget; the campsite has free to use dishwashers. And a golden tip is that it is better to wash dishes in the kitchen because there is always hot water there. And if you don't have In to cook once in a while, you've come to the right place too. Foodtrucks with pancakes, Indian or chicken come to the campsite regularly. The campground also has BBQ on Saturdays and the rest of the week you can order pizzas. These are delicious!

Wonderful vacation address, we have been coming for years. The park keeps renewing and is in a beautiful hiking area. Nice pools and an active animation team. If you want, the location is divided by age of your children so they can easily make vacation friends. Highly recommended.

Decent enough campsite. Has everything required. Great location and quiet. Easy access to Leeuwarden

We camp at the campground and definitely want to come back next year. Even with the lesser weather, the kids are having a blast!!! Very quiet family camping. There is also a lot to do in the area. You do have to pay extra for the sanitary facilities but they are very clean! They will definitely see us back! Very friendly and correct owners!!!

Everything is always perfect as usual friendly staff

A beautiful park, nice people at reception and plenty of space for rest and relaxation. Further construction phases will follow, so there is currently (August 2025) still a very spacious, park-like green area. The houses are relatively close together, but are aligned in such a way that you don't necessarily look into your neighbors' living rooms. The interior design is very modern, but kept in natural colors and materials, making it cozy. There is a lot of nature around the complex and beautiful cycling and hiking trails through the Bergvennen nature reserve right next to the park. If you are looking for a few days of relaxation in a luxurious vacation home close to the border, this is the place for you.

One of the best campsites we've ever been to! Rest and serenity, with the lake imposing its calm. Well done to the whole team for their warm welcome, and to the management, who take care of their customers every day by dropping in to say a few words. The sanitary facilities and the campsite in general are very clean. Games (boules, badminton, cornhole, board games, etc.) and books are available to customers without any deposit or hassle: a good idea, bravo! Everyone respects the equipment (I hope!). The pool (a little cold for my taste 😜) is very well organized, with family areas and other quieter areas on the side. We never go back to the same campsite, but we'll be looking for the same sign in another region for next year, I promise! Only downside: the grocery store is very minimalist, there's not much. But there's a supermarket nearby, accessible by bike or car.

All fantastic!!! Attentive care, incredible silence and genuine food ... surrounded by green walnut and olive groves, welcoming and friendly managers, strategic location at the top of the plateau above the beautiful town of Bevagna, perfect for visiting the region. Great, really!!!

No respect!!!!! Who wants to be talked to in a campground in front of many campground guests in a very nasty whining tone? No one does! At this campsite the SwinnenBos this happens. Not once but twice in 3 days. Wednesday, July 23 arrival small bus with electric car. (We like to drive on vacation by car and leave the bus at the campsite). Upon arrival no one present at the reception, after n phone call we were received saying where we were going to charge our car? Why are there charging stations here we asked, not seen namely on the site. That was not the problem, sir assumed that we took power for the car. We did not intend to charge along the highway. Yet our car was not allowed to be at our spot only with unloading. We saw later that almost everyone had their car in their spot. Strange! He had not counted on us coming with a small bus and a tent, which I had indicated when booking. The bus would destroy the grass when constantly turning the wheels. Also weird: in many places there are heavier buses than ours. A strange situation. We went to unload our stuff and set up the tent. Suddenly we heard a loud voice of a lady walking in front of another car, you can't park this car here it has to leave the campsite, this is against the rules you know that, it has been said this is a warning otherwise it's over for you on this campsite. Oh, we will take it away no problem, but the lady was not ready and repeated her words several times. The sensa for all the neighbors was on high alert. How many times are you going to repeat it I will take the car away said my husband. She kept on talking loudly as she walked away that t was done for us. The next day my husband got into a conversation with the owner and told him the above. He said he was sorry and would discuss this with her. He added that the woman is his mother-in-law and shareholder of the campground so he had to discuss it carefully. But the lady wasn't done with us yet. We got new neighbors with a dog. Our dog had gotten loose and was searching for the little dog through the trees. The lady happened to walk by and started her threats again in the same tone. The dog is not allowed off leash!!!! This is your 2nd warning you just do it! We were perplexed. She shouted to the neighbors if you are bothered by these people report it because they have already had 2 warnings. They show absolutely no respect for us. Repeating loudly she kept on going. Again no possibility to react she did not listen, she was full of emotion. The neighbors let us know they were not bothered by us and were also shocked by the lady. The following days we had the idea of being watched by the woman and her husband (?). Sneaking peeks what we were doing, even stopping the car hard once and reversing a bit to get a better look. This was the last straw for us and we decided to break up and leave a day and a half early. Respect, on the Swinnenbos website the word is mentioned several times. Respect with them means that guests should respect them and otherwise keep quiet and do as they please. Respect, in my experience, starts with propositions, mutual communication without raising voices and/or threats, and understanding and accepting the other person as they are. This was more like dictatorship.
