Update: This was our second time at the campground this year. This time we had private restroom facilities. That was generally good, but they were handed over completely filthy.

Insanely loud neighbors with dogs that barked constantly. The campground management didn’t care.

We won’t be coming back. There are much better campsites for the money.

The campground is in a good location. The beautiful beach is just five minutes away. However, the path there is littered with dog waste. The Hague, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam are easily accessible.

The campsites are sufficiently large. However, anyone hoping for grassy areas here will mostly be disappointed. Our site was very sandy. If it had rained harder, we would have been standing in mud.

There’s a new center with a playground, mini-golf, soccer and basketball courts, as well as a supermarket and a restaurant. You can rent bicycles on-site (12 EUR/day).

The biggest problem is the restroom facilities. There are simply too few for the size of the campground. On the small field with 60 campsites, there is only one restroom building. It has two showers each for men and women. There are two restrooms for men and three for women. The cleaning of these very outdated facilities is done solely with a garden hose. Everything gets hosed down once until it’s completely flooded. And that’s the extent of the cleaning.

For a campground in this price range, that’s definitely not enough.

The operators have been made aware of this issue many times. You just have to look at the reviews. However, nothing is being done to improve the situation.

Alternatively, you can book sites with private restrooms, which of course cost even more. However, the money spent on this is well worth it.

Nice accommodations, but unfortunately the cottage—and the dishes—weren’t very clean. It hadn’t been vacuumed at all, because there were still dog treats stuck in the rug. Other than that, it’s a lovely cottage by the water, and the lake is great for carp fishing right from your own dock. The park is otherwise well-maintained.

Good location, surprisingly little space for inexplicably high costs

A lovely park in the heart of the Veluwe forests. The cottages are neat and relatively new, with plenty of space and privacy thanks to the well-established vegetation, even though they’re quite close together. The TV with Chromecast is ideal if you want to stream your own content.

Construction is still underway on the edge of the park. We stayed in cottage 124, further inside the park, and weren’t bothered by it.

Major pluses include direct access to the forest, a dog-off-leash area nearby, and plenty of activities. Within minutes you’re in the woods, which was fantastic with the dog.

Unfortunately, during our stay—which coincided with a heat wave—we ran into the harsh reality of grid congestion and a lack of sustainability measures. The cottages are 100% dependent on the traditional power grid and have no solar panels, infrared heating, or gas-free amenities (there is still a gas stovetop). During the heat wave, this led to a power crisis: after a power outage lasting several hours caused by a blown main fuse, we were no longer allowed to turn on the air conditioners due to grid overload. The Wi-Fi was also down, and the pool closed. With indoor temperatures exceeding 30 degrees, it became unbearable, forcing us (and many other guests) to leave early.

A few more practical drawbacks: the signage within the park could be improved. When walking around, it’s hard to find your way at first due to a lack of signs. There’s also no app access for the cottages, unlike at Landal. Be aware in the early morning: the sprinklers turn on around 5 a.m. That said, the staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful during check-in.

At its core, it’s a beautiful park, but in 2026, simply building a luxury cottage is no longer enough. Without a smart and future-proof energy infrastructure, you’re literally sending your guests out into the heat.
