EuroParcs Hoge Kempen is beautifully situated in the heart of nature and offers a peaceful base for those looking to enjoy the surroundings. The park is appreciated for its central location near Maastricht, Genk and Hasselt, with many walking and cycling routes starting directly from the park. Guests praise the friendly staff and modern facilities such as the free spray park, playgrounds and access to the outdoor swimming pool across the road. However, there are areas for improvement regarding information provision, cleanliness, the absence of an on-site shop and the restaurant's opening hours.

Back from a wonderful two-week vacation. We stayed with the family (our daughter, who’s almost 4, and our 3-month-old baby) in cottage E13 (Lieteberg Cottage) in August. We had beautiful—even hot—weather and mostly stayed at the campground. I’ll go into detail about everything here:
Cottage:
Beautiful, modern, clean, spacious, and equipped with most amenities. Conveniently laid out, though I did move a few things around. Used the wine rack as a changing table. The camp bed fits right at the foot of the double bed. The AC was great, and there were plenty of doors and windows that could be opened, three of which had screens. Watch out for splinters on the porch, and the faucets get very hot and are confusing to operate. Plenty of storage space. The wraparound patio was also handy.
Cottage location:
It was very quiet for us, yet still nice and close to the reception. Maybe a little more interaction with the neighbors would have been nice, and having a car in front of the house is convenient, though having the parking lot right in the middle feels a bit uninviting. No one could see into our cottage, and only two neighbors walked by. Some cottages were closer to a main road. I’d definitely request a preferred spot and see where you’d like to stay. The front section was mostly surrounded by trees as well. Next time, I think we’ll go for a kids’ cottage with a playground in the middle.
Facilities:
We took full advantage of the entertainment, and the kids’ disco was a lot of fun. Nice entertainment team. The bread roll service was great and tasty. You can pick up coffee at the brasserie, but often not until noon. We didn’t find the brasserie very cozy—it was crowded and there was a lot of smoking. The play areas, however, were smoke-free. We also rented a go-kart once, went on a jeep safari twice, and rented a cargo bike once. It was easy to arrange. We played mini-golf, visited the spray park often, and checked out all the playgrounds. Our toddler loved it. We also did laundry twice (there are 3 washing machines, and it costs 7 euros). We also ordered a vegetarian gourmet meal for two once and enjoyed it twice (including our toddler).
Surroundings:
We loved the pool—plenty of shade and still plenty of space even when it was crowded. The water was a bit cold, but okay (don’t let the baby swim). You can pick up pizza and sandwiches or eat them on the patio. There are also nice playgrounds—literally just across the street.
You can also go for walks through the woods, bike rides, and enjoy outdoor dining nearby (Brunckin, De Kapelanij, and Diner’o are highly recommended).
Our day trip to Hasselt was fun.
And the barefoot trail, including the Visitor Center, was fun.
Carrefour is the nearest supermarket.
I think we’ll be back sometime. :) It’s a 2-hour drive and feels like you’re really abroad.this is a translation, click here for the original
Zal even uitgebreid overal op ingaan
Huisje:
Dagje hasselt was leuk.
En blotevoetenpad incl. Bezoekerscentrum was leuk.
Carrefour dichtstbijzijnde supermarkt.

The park is in great shape. The restrooms are clean and the facilities are well-maintained.
Upon arrival, we found that a slat on the slatted base of one of the beds was broken. You can easily report issues via text message, but they don’t follow up on them—not even after multiple attempts. I ended up fixing it myself. The entertainment team is a total letdown. On several occasions, no one showed up, or the wrong location for the activity was given. We won’t be coming back here.this is a translation, click here for the original
