Camping Valkanela

This was our first time at this campground, and we’re glad we were in site 194—it was really quiet there. The restrooms were super clean and modern, and they were constantly being cleaned—there wasn’t a single moment when a cleaning lady wasn’t present.
If it were possible, we’d give it 3.5 stars, for the following reasons:
The dog beach is beautiful, with a grassy area and plenty of shade, but even here, the morning rush to reserve spots has taken hold—it’s annoying when you have to search for a free spot first thing in the morning among parked SUP boards, empty lounge chairs, towels, kids’ wagons, and so on.
The shared path along the beach is dominated by e-scooter riders and cyclists who zoom through without a care in the world.
I can’t confirm the negative reviews from other vacationers regarding dog waste, but I find it sad that other vacationers had to go through this experience, since as a dog owner, you’re happy when dogs are allowed on the campground.

We had a lovely family holiday at this camp overall.
The reception staff were helpful, although the queue to speak to someone could sometimes be as long as an hour, which was frustrating.
Our caravan was quite small for a Premium option, but it was clean and in a good location.
There are essentially four places to eat onsite: a burger bar on the beach, a restaurant next to the pool, a restaurant by the sea, and a small snack bar further up the beach.
The pool area is lovely. However, charging €10 per sun lounger feels excessive, although we found that if you were only there for around an hour, you were not usually charged—mainly if you wanted one for longer.
Overall, we found the onsite activities fairly basic and overpriced.
For food costs, I’d recommend budgeting around €100 per meal for a family of four.
Watch out for the live music, extremely hit and miss.

A clean, well-maintained facility,

We had a wonderful stay at the Valkanela Campground. The grounds are well-maintained, the campsites and mobile homes are clean, and the location right by the sea is simply fantastic. We highly recommend this campground, especially for families.

The staff was always friendly and helpful, and we felt very comfortable throughout our entire vacation.

If we could make one small request, ceiling fans on the terraces of the mobile homes would be the icing on the cake. Especially on warm summer evenings, that would make spending time outside even more pleasant.
