What you should know about the park
In the heart of the Ebbegebirge Nature Park lies the German holiday park EuroParcs Biggesee. Not only can you enjoy the rural surroundings here. The Hanseatic city of Attendorn, with its historic town centre, the Sauerland Museum and attractive shops and restaurants is not far away either. EuroParcs Biggesee is located on the most beautiful bay of this largest lake in the region.

Summary created out of 228 reviews
The location at the Biggesee is beautiful with walking and cycling opportunities in the immediate surroundings. Guests appreciate the peace and nature, although the campsite is clearly in transition with many cordoned-off areas and construction work. The sanitary facilities are a major point for improvement: guests complain about black mould in shower grouting, insufficient hot water during busy periods, and too little toilet capacity because one sanitary building is closed. Staff receive mixed reviews – some experience friendliness and helpfulness, others feel unwelcome or get insufficient response to complaints. There is hardly any entertainment or catering, which is disappointing for families with children.

Our family rented a chalet at EuroParcs Biggesee for ten days and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Upon arrival, everything was well organized, and since we could park the car right in front of the chalet, unloading was easy.
The chalet was clean, tidy, and well-maintained. There was a nice playground nearby for the kids—we think it was brand new. There are also table tennis tables, and the park is within walking distance of the beautiful Biggesee.
We had brought a SUP with us and were able to easily order a second one through Amazon and have it delivered to the front desk. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We also really appreciated the option to pick up fresh rolls at the front desk every day.
The park’s location is wonderfully peaceful. The surrounding area is perfect for swimming, hiking, biking, and exploring the forests and mountains. My son and I took a beautiful hike through the mountains, which he absolutely loved.
There’s plenty to see and do in the area, though you’ll need a car for most outings. We had a fantastic vacation here and can definitely recommend EuroParcs Biggesee!this is a translation, click here for the original

The campground doesn't have enough restroom facilities for the high season. The cleaning and maintenance of the restrooms are very poor! The shower is completely covered in mold! During the 1.5 weeks we were there, the restroom wasn’t cleaned at all for 4 or 5 days—it was that dirty! We expected better from Europarcs!

We were there with friends, staying in two adjacent campsites. When we made the reservation, it looked like everything was booked up, so we booked two spots right next to each other for an extra fee. Upon arrival, it turned out that apparently that couldn’t have been true—there were plenty of open spots. There are two restroom facilities on the site, one of which is apparently being renovated, so we were lucky enough to have restrooms right across from our campsites. On the first day, everything was fine, and the facilities were clean. But by the second day, they hadn’t been cleaned, and the restrooms looked extremely run-down. When we asked at the front desk, we were told rather rudely that the restrooms were cleaned several times a day. We waited. On the second day, it was the same: no cleaning service, and the restrooms were absolutely filthy. There was no toilet paper, and no soap either. We asked again at the front desk, received another snappy response, and witnessed a “follow-up call” right in front of us, during which the woman at the front desk told the cleaning staff that someone had complained and they should clean up now. Then she shoved two rolls of toilet paper and a soap dispenser into my hand and said they’d take care of it. By evening, nothing had happened yet. After contacting the park management, someone finally came after three days without cleaning and did a rudimentary job.
Overall, the campground makes a rather neglected impression. There are many open construction sites, broken paths, and cobblestones even on the actually quite new playground, which was also sufficiently filled in.
When we inquired, the park management offered to make up for the incident with a free night’s stay on our next booking. Thanks, but no thanks.
The location on Waldenburger Bay, with many nearby attractions and a truly beautiful swimming cove, is the only positive thing I can currently say about this campground. It’s a shame—back in the day, before Europarcs took over and converted campsites into vacation homes, things were apparently different.this is a translation, click here for the original
