Neat and clean. But very crowded. Little privacy; many RVs parked almost right up against each other.

Netjes en schoon. Maar heel erg druk. Weinig privacy, veel caravans nagenoeg strak tegen elkaar.

Camping Hu Birkelt—where should I start with this review? The restrooms, the atmosphere, the staff, the activities… in a word: AWESOME!
The restrooms look nice and clean. If we had to make one small comment, it’s that the shower pressure could be a bit stronger. 🤣 (I’m also spoiled by my own shower at home 🤣)

It’s a campground that also offers rental accommodations. However, everything is mixed together, so the caravans and tents are nestled comfortably among the mobile homes and glamping sites. This gives the place a cozy, friendly vibe. They’re not separated from each other.

The entertainment! WOW! It’s so well organized! There’s always something going on from 11:00 a.m. until late at 11:00 p.m. A musical for everyone, the mini-club, sports activities, live music, bingo, theme days (Texas style, under the stars)—it’s really great. You don’t even have to leave the campground to have fun! So, a huge compliment to the entertainment team!

All the staff are so incredibly friendly, always working with a smile.

The prices are campground prices—you know that. But if you order a pizza, it’s hand-kneaded, and the scoops of ice cream you get are pretty big! No measly little scoops.

All in all, we had a fantastic vacation. We’d love to come back!

WAUW!

A great campground for a vacation with kids!

We stayed at Camping Birkelt for a week and had a wonderful time. We stayed in a neat and relatively new cabin, which was very pleasant. The atmosphere at the campground is cozy and relaxed, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

There’s plenty for kids to do, so they can keep themselves well entertained. All in all, a great campground and definitely recommended for families!

The only real downside we found was the lack of a charging station for electric cars. Given the large number of Dutch guests and the growing number of Dutch people driving electric cars, we believe a charging station at the campground is really a must. Right now, you have to rely on a 200 kW charger down in the village, which of course works just fine, but a charging station at the campground would be a lot more convenient.

Other than that, we had a wonderful week and would love to come back again!

We spent 7 nights at hu Birkelt Village. The accommodations were really super clean—a world of difference compared to the somewhat older cottages we had at hu I Pini.

At €1,340 for a week, you’re definitely paying for that, but it was absolutely worth it for the cleanliness.

Still, there are a few clear areas where the campground falls short:

The pool: The outdoor pool is quite cold. The indoor pool is a nice alternative, but because of the roof, it’s extremely noisy and very crowded.

The park store: The supermarket on the campground is absurdly expensive—up to four times as expensive as the supermarket in the village 15 km away. That does nothing to encourage guests to stay on the campground and do their grocery shopping there, which is a shame and unnecessary.

All in all, it’s a very clean park with nice accommodations, but in terms of park amenities and prices, there’s definitely room for improvement.
