Taste Wine From Our Own Country

Curious about the taste of Dutch wine? On the former seabed of the reclaimed Zuiderzee, you'll find Wijngoed Wilgenhorst. The first harvest took place at this Dutch vineyard in 2014, and it now boasts over 4,000 vines. And, of course, that's something you have to taste.

Regular guided tours take place, where winemaker Geert Horlings takes you through the vineyard and gives you a glimpse into the wine cellar, all while enjoying a good glass of wine. Holsterwold is not only a beautiful nature reserve with plenty to experience, but it is also one of the largest deciduous forests in the Netherlands. There are stunning hiking trails, and you can enjoy a bike ride through the area. Perhaps you'll spot some of the magnificent animals that inhabit the forest, such as fallow deer, foxes, or wild horses. In the Zevensprong play forest, children can play, climb, and even build huts.

    -We were really disappointed that the beach bar was closed for our entire stay
    -We were also only able to eat at the restaurant once, because it was closed for two days right in the middle of summer vacation
    -Tip for updating the info on the website: it says to “grab the canoe that belongs to your lodge,” but you don’t actually have your own canoe—you have to go look around the park yourself to find a canoe or SUP. Most of them were practically empty, so we couldn’t use them.

    -As many Google reviews have already noted, we also didn’t find the bench comfortable enough to just plop down and relax on. It’s a bummer if you’re stuck with rainy weather.

    -We also found the staff to be rather unfriendly. When we went to pick up sandwiches, they suddenly wouldn’t accept cash; after reserving a cargo bike, we arrived only to find there were none left. (This is also an issue with their AI WhatsApp customer service), which provides incorrect information to guests.

    -⁠ If you advertise “excellent cleaning” on your website, you need to live up to that claim. Inside, it was clean, but outside there were still full cups left by the previous guests and a dirty table/patio.

    + The food in the restaurant, on the other hand, was top-notch, and the service was extremely friendly.

    + We also really liked the wellness garden.

    + And the cottage, of course, was in a great location and very cozy.

    -Wij vonden het erg balen dat de beachbar ons hele verblijf dicht was
    -Ook het restaurant konden we maar 1 keer gebruik van maken, omdat deze 2 dagen dicht was midden in de zomervakantie
    -Tip om info op de website aan te passen hier staat namelijk pak de kano die bij je lodge hoort, maar je hebt niet een eigen kano maar je moet zelf op zoek gaan op het park waar je een kano of sup kunt vinden. De meeste waren zo goed als leeg dus konden we niet gebruiken.

    -Bank zoals veel Google reviews al beschreven vonden ook wij niet comfortabel genoeg om even lekker op te ploffen/relaxen. Balen als je regenachtig weer hebt.

    -Personeel vonden wij verder vrij stug. Bij het ophalen van broodjes werd er ineens geen contant geld geaccepteerd, na het reserveren van een bakfiets kwamen we aan en was er niets meer. (Kwestie ook van hun AI whatsapp klantenservice) wat dus foutieve info geeft aan gasten.

    -⁠ Als je excellente schoonmaak op je website zet dan moet je dit wel waarmaken. Binnen was het goed schoon, maar buiten stonden nog gevulde kopjes van de vorige gasten en een vieze tafel / terras

    + Het eten in het restaurant was daarentegen wel top & enorm vriendelijke bediening.

    + Ook de wellnesstuin vonden wij iets heel leuks hebben.

    + En het huisje natuurlijk op een geweldige plek en heel knus.

    Awful. Made in a totally slapdash way. Margherita pizza (20 cm in diameter)—the crust was as thin as cardboard and dry. And all that for €13.75!!!!! The menu only has 5 pizzas. Set meals are way overpriced. The place is filthy.

    An incredible place, perfect for a vacation surrounded by nature. For us, looking to escape the heat after two sweltering months in Italy, it was wonderful. The villa with a hot tub and a floor-to-ceiling glass wall for stargazing was a fantastic choice. We’d stay here forever 😅

    Great resort, though there were some issues with cleanliness.
    It’s a shame, because the resort, the cottages, and the staff are fantastic. This is our second time here, and this time we really had some bad luck with the cleanliness of the house. BUT, after we filed a complaint, they responded immediately and fixed the issues. So we still had 14 wonderful days this summer in the villa with the hot tub.

    Tolle Anlage mit Abzügen in der Sauberkeit.
    Leider, denn die Anlage, die Häuser und das Personal sind super. Wir sind bereits das zweite Mal hier und haben dieses Mal wirklich doll Pech mit der Sauberkeit des Hauses gehabt. ABER, nach einer Beschwerde wurde sofort reagiert und die Mängel beseitigt. Somit hatten wir auch in diesem Sommer 14 wunderschöne Tage in der Villa mit Hottub.
