Excellent location just a 10-minute walk from the beautiful city centre, making it ideal for a lovely stroll into this historic town. The campsite is clean, with sanitary and reception facilities currently being renewed. We had an absolutely lovely stay, booking online and treating ourselves to a private bathroom pitch, which was exceptionally clean and well presented, with EHU, water, and waste hook-up on the pitch. The owners were polite and very helpful.

Not great for bicycle tourers. Tent pitches were tiny, all squeezed in together, on opposite side of a public footpath/ verge through site. Good access to Ypres. Lots of potential ... clean but VERY limited facilities for size of site. Some rebuilding of facilities which meant only 4 toilets for whole site.

We had booked 5 basic cabins, a lodge and 2 camper van spaces for our group of 15. 2 weeks before our booking, two couples in basic cabins were told that they were being upgraded due to a booking mistake by the site. Turns out that the upgrade was a downgrade to the extra small clamping tents. After the first very disturbed night (there was a rock festival going on next door, playing music through the night) they complained, but the staff on site said that they had no authority to do anything about it and the person who did would not be in until Monday. Therefore our friends had to stay in their cold, noisy, spider infested, tiny tents 100 m from the nearest toilet (not much fun when it is raining) when there were empty lodges on site that they could have been moved to. Had the campsite taken any pride in their customer service and given our friends a decent second night, we could probably have overlooked the ants in the lodge, the broken coffee machine and dirty cups in one of the basic cabins, the noisy music festival and the fact that there were only 2 ladies toilets and 2 showers (of which one was closed off one morning) for the whole campsite. Overall, a disappointing experience.
