Summary created out of 285 reviews

EuroParcs Zuiderzee boasts a beautiful location directly on the Veluwemeer, with convenient access to Elburg, Harderwijk and attractions like Walibi. The park offers spacious playgrounds, a large indoor play area and animation programmes that keep families with children entertained. However, the park faces significant challenges: the swimming pool is frequently described as ice-cold, dirty and outdated, cleaning of accommodations often falls short with dust, stains and mould, and there is considerable maintenance backlog affecting furniture, doors and technical installations. Staff reviews are mixed – some are friendly and helpful, others unfriendly or overwhelmed – and communication and customer service frequently disappoint, with guests being passed from pillar to post.

    Here’s a somewhat longer message—sorry about that.

We spent our multigenerational family vacation with you for a week during summer break (North Rhine-Westphalia/Netherlands).

Upon arrival, it would have been helpful to be informed in advance that we weren’t supposed to check in at the front desk, but instead had to get in line with the long line of cars.

When we arrived at our house, the property made a very good first impression. The well-maintained landscaping, the beautiful paths, and the attractive houses made for a positive first impression.

Inside the house, however, our enthusiasm quickly turned to disappointment. There were cobwebs everywhere, the stairs were dusty, and the laminate floors were partially damaged. This impression carried through the entire house. I understand that windows aren’t always perfectly clean. However, I expect the cleaning service to thoroughly vacuum the corners as well. Dead flies in the corners of the windows or cobwebs can be removed in just a few minutes. Much more emphasis should be placed on cleanliness here.

We also had to wash all the dishes in the kitchen ourselves at first. In addition, all the shelves in the base cabinets were missing. We don’t know whether they were damaged or stolen. As a result, we ultimately had to store our food in a closet in the bedroom area.

We stayed in Eco Villa No. 120. Surprisingly, hardly any of the windows there could be opened. On the upper floor, only the bathroom and one of the four bedrooms could be ventilated. In the interior bedroom on the ground floor, not a single window could be opened. Ventilation was practically only possible through the front door and the patio door. Fortunately, the weather wasn’t too hot during our stay. Nevertheless, we sometimes had to sleep with the doors open, which of course severely limited our privacy. The fans and heating and air conditioning units provided little relief from the heat; one of them was also defective and couldn’t be repaired during our stay.

I would like to highlight, however, that our complaints regarding the clogged drain on the upper floor and a damaged pan were resolved very quickly.

Based on our first impression of its cleanliness, we decided not to use the Jura fully automatic coffee machine.

Despite all the shortcomings, we wanted to make the best of our vacation. Unfortunately, however, the negative impression continued. The supermarket closes as early as 6 p.m. The restaurant by the playground was closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. During the entertainment program, there was no way to buy drinks or ice cream. This was especially disappointing for the kids. As a result, we often had to go back to the house to get our own snacks. The beach bar is nice, but it’s significantly farther away from the playground.

As other guests have already mentioned, the swimming pool was closed. After we complained about this, we at least received a refund or a partial reimbursement, which allowed us to visit a nearby swimming pool once. Still, it’s very disappointing that the pool was closed during the summer vacation in North Rhine-Westphalia and the Netherlands of all times. We would have loved to have stopped by for just a couple of hours.

The indoor play area is generally nicely designed. However, there was no place to buy drinks there either. Also, it’s better to use the restrooms in your own cabin (see photo of the restroom in the indoor area).

During our stay, there was very little going on in the park overall, and the dining options were also rather limited.

All in all, we regret a little that we didn’t spend a bit more money on a stay at Center Parcs. Unfortunately, our stay at EuroParcs was a disappointment overall. The beautiful grounds unfortunately couldn’t make up for the numerous shortcomings in cleanliness, amenities, and service.

We stayed in an Eco Villa with a sauna for 10 people:
. The living area was furnished in a modern style, and the kitchen was fully equipped, but for the most part, the house was very worn out and dirty. The house was definitely not cleaned before our arrival.
The house had a total of 5 bedrooms, 4 of which were on the first floor. These were equipped with fans for cooling and heating, but not a single one worked! In the entire house, the only doors that could be opened properly were the door to the patio on the ground floor and the window in one bedroom on the first floor. In all the other bedrooms, there were ventilation slits about 5 cm wide that were completely filthy
. In the bathrooms, there was simply no way to ventilate.
. On hot days, it was an absolute disaster.
For kids, there’s plenty of variety: entertainment, a swimming pool, GameZone, etc.
(The GameZone and Kids Club weren’t air-conditioned.)
The Parcshop had everything you needed.
Overall, the park was okay, but we wouldn’t visit it again or recommend it to others.

    An heißen absolute Katastrophe.

A very messy campground; there’s trash lying around everywhere. From potato chip bags and barbecue grills in the bushes to underwear that’s been lying on the floor in the restroom building for days. The restroom buildings could use a bit of a cleanup. The trash cans have been overflowing for well over a day. You can still hear the music from the beach bar in great detail three campsites away. The campsites themselves are starting to look like a desert; the grass is yellow from the drought, but the bare patches aren’t from the last few months. The holes and ruts on the fields also make them dangerous. This campground has really gone downhill compared to about 20 years ago.
