    We had a great time as a family at the campground during the off-season. The staff was always friendly, courteous, and helpful. The location was also ideal for us as a family. We could take a relaxing swim in the lake, which was within walking distance, or bike to the Atlantic Ocean in just 20 minutes. If you plan your shopping well, you can easily leave the car parked for a few days.

    Wir hatten in der Nachsaison als Familie eine super Zeit auf dem Campingplatz. Das Team war immer freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Der Standort war für uns als Familie auch ideal. Entspanntes Baden im See zu Fuß erreichbar oder eben 20 Minuten mit dem Fahrrad zum Atlantik. Wenn man die Einkäufe gut plant, kann das Auto problemlos ein paar Tage stehen bleiben.

    With three families and kids ranging from 0 to 7 years old, Huttopia Lac de Carcans was just the right choice for us in September: a relaxed breakfast under the pine trees in the morning, trips to the area’s great beaches during the day, and cozy evenings spent together.

    The decor is minimalist but very well thought out—you really don’t … need much to be happy, and you don’t miss a thing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Personally, the music from the neighboring campground didn’t bother us at all; the atmosphere was generally wonderfully relaxed during the off-season.

    Must-haves to pack: Be sure to bring beachwear and a hammock! Highly recommended.

    Mit drei Familien und Kids von 0 bis 7 Jahren war Huttopia Lac de Carcans im September für uns genau das Richtige: morgens entspanntes Frühstück unter Pinien, tagsüber an die tollen Strände der Umgebung und abends gemütliches Zusammensitzen.

    Die Einrichtung ist minimalistisch, aber super durchdacht – man braucht einfach so wenig, um glücklich zu sein, und vermisst absolut nichts. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Musik der Nachbaranlage hat uns persönlich überhaupt nicht gestört; die Atmosphäre war allgemein herrlich entspannt in der Off Season.

    Must-haves im Gepäck: Unbedingt Sandelsachen und eine Hängematte einpacken! Klare Empfehlung.

    Great family vacation—highly recommended!
    We stayed at Huttopia Lac Carcans as a group of three families with children ages 0 to 7 and had an absolutely fantastic time. We’d come back anytime and can wholeheartedly recommend this campground!
    Accommodations & Facilities
    We stayed in the “Arizona” tents. The amenities were more than … sufficient for us—we really had everything we needed. A huge plus for young and old alike: right outside our door was the finest sand, which the kids played in enthusiastically all day long.
    Highlights for Kids & Parents
    * Lakefront location: Direct access to the swimming lake is unbeatable, especially with young children.
    * Playground & bar: The playground is wonderfully designed and located right next to the bar—perfect for parents to relax while the kids run around.
    * Bike Rental: Absolutely top-notch selection with bikes of all kinds.
    Surroundings & Excursions
    The absolute highlight is, of course, the proximity to the Atlantic Ocean: It’s about a 10-minute drive, a 20-minute bike ride, or about an hour’s walk. The region is also perfect for a day trip—a trip to Bordeaux is definitely worth it!

    Wir waren als Gruppe von drei Familien mit Kindern im Alter von 0 bis 7 Jahren im Huttopia Lac Carcans und hatten eine rundum fantastische Zeit. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und können den Platz uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!
    Unterkunft & Anlage
    Wir haben in den „Arizona“-Zelten übernachtet. Die Einrichtung war für uns vollkommen ausreichend – wir hatten wirklich alles, was wir brauchten. Ein riesiges Plus für Groß und Klein: Direkt vor unserer Haustür hatten wir feinsten Sand, der den ganzen Tag eifrig bespielt wurde.
    Highlights für Kinder & Eltern
    * Lage am See: Der direkte Zugang zum Badesee ist unschlagbar, besonders mit kleinen Kindern.
    * Spielplatz & Bar: Der Spielplatz ist super angelegt und liegt direkt neben der Bar – perfekt, um als Eltern entspannt zu verweilen, während die Kids toben.
    * Fahrradverleih: Absolut top ausgestattet mit Rädern in allen Variationen.
    Umgebung & Ausflüge
    Das absolute Highlight ist natürlich die Nähe zum Atlantik: Mit dem Auto ist man in ca. 10 Minuten dort, mit dem Fahrrad in 20 Minuten und zu Fuß läuft man etwa eine Stunde. Auch für einen Tagesausflug bietet sich die Region an – ein Trip nach Bordeaux lohnt sich definitiv!

    What a beautiful and unique place. Unbelievable! Anyone who loves camping in nature will truly find what they’re looking for here. The trees, the peace and quiet, the crickets, the lake within walking distance, and the ocean within biking distance. We look back on this wonderful campground—and especially its location—with very fond memories. The … central plaza and the playground there are also fun and full of charm. We also appreciated the mix of different nationalities: Germans, Spaniards, Dutch, Belgians, French…

    The restrooms, however, are very basic. We’re used to Huttopia campgrounds, but here they were more outdated and often dirty. The lines for pizza and sandwiches in the morning are ridiculous—a major annoyance. We sometimes had to wait in line for as long as 25 minutes just for a drink in the evening. Our record wait for sandwiches in the morning was 40 minutes. Unfortunately, there are no alternatives in the area.

    And good to know: the campground is large and, as a result, a bit confusing. We found that a bit challenging with our 3- and 5-year-olds, who are used to riding their bikes around the campground. It’s big and everything looks the same, so finding their way back isn’t easy for younger children.

    Wat een prachtige en unieke plek. Ongekend! Wie van natuurkamperen houdt, komt hier echt aan zijn trekken. De bomen, de rust, de krekels, het meer op loopafstand en de oceaan op fietsafstand. Wij kijken met hele mooie herinneringen terug op deze prachtige camping en vooral de ligging. Het centrale plein en de bijbehorende speeltuin is ook leuk en sfeervol. De mix van verschillende nationaliteiten konden wij ook waarderen: duitsers, spanjaarden, nederlanders, belgen, fransen..

    Het sanitair is wel heel primitief. Wij zijn Huttopia-campings gewend maar hier was het gedateerder en vaak vies. De rijen bij de pizza's en broodjes in de ochtend zijn niet normaal: een grote ergenis. We hebben soms voor een drankje in de avond wel 25 minuten in de rij gestaan. Voor de broodjes in de ochtend stond ons record op 40 min. Helaas geen alternatieven in de omgeving.

    En goed om te weten: de camping is groot en daardoor ook onoverzichtelijk. Dat vonden wij nog wel eens lastig met onze kids van 3 en 5 die gewend zijn om op hun fietsjes de camping over te gaan. Het is groot en alles lijkt op elkaar, waardoor de weg terug vinden niet makkelijk is voor kleine(re) kinderen.
