Dreaming of a family holiday full of adventure, but you also have a secret love affair with comfortable beds, working plumbing, and the absence of creepy-crawlies in your sleeping bag? Let us introduce you to glamping in France with kids – the ultimate recipe for family fun, laughter, and the occasional croissant for breakfast (or lunch, we're not here to judge).
France is famous for its fabulous food, rolling landscapes, and a certain “je ne sais quoi.” But did you know it's also packed to the brim with gorgeous glamping spots that cater especially to families? Whether you want to play knight and princess in medieval forests, splash around in the sun, or simply relax while the kids run wild (safely, of course), France delivers.
Forget hauling that old tent out of the attic or negotiating with inflatable mattresses every night. Instead, think spacious safari tents, cozy lodges, or even epic tree houses – all fully equipped with real beds and sometimes your very own bathroom. No more “Dad, I need the toilet” dash across a muddy field at midnight. You’re welcome.
France is a big place, and we've scouted out the perfect family-friendly glamping spots in some of its most beautiful regions. From the sunny south to the lush green north, your only stress will be choosing where to go first.
Looking for a region with a Mediterranean breeze, golden fields, and activities galore? Occitanie and Nouvelle-Aquitaine roll out the red carpet for families. You’ll find glamping resorts surrounded by vineyards and sunflower valleys, with playgrounds, pools, and sometimes even a petting zoo. No child can resist a goat on holiday.
For the more adventurous families (or those high on sugar and in need of wide open spaces!), the mountains of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and the forested hills of Grand Est are calling. Here, your glamping tent might overlook alpine peaks or nestle among trees. Sign up for hiking, ziplining, cycling, and see who wins the annual family “who can spot the most squirrels” championship.
Fancy making sandcastles in Normandie or feasting on Provençal markets in the south? These regions promise rugged coastlines and lavender-filled fields. Glamping options are never far from the fun, with accommodations just a picnic blanket away from the beach or nestled between olive groves and lavender farms. You’ll even find holiday parks packed with swimming pools, entertainment, and activities for all ages. Kids club for them, rosé for you. Everyone’s happy.
The best thing about glamping with kids in France? You get all the adventure that camping brings, without the stress, backache, or mysterious tent instructions. After a day exploring castles, rivers, or theme parks, everyone can collapse into a comfy bed. And next morning, you’re ready for fresh air, fresh bread, and a new set of fun family memories.
Ready to start planning? Take a look at our top glamping accommodations in France with kids and discover your family’s new favourite holiday spot – with zero tent pegs required.
