A wonderful experience. The campground is in a beautiful and very peaceful setting, perfect for unwinding and enjoying nature. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the staff was very friendly. Plus, it’s in a great location for visiting the beaches and coves of Cabo de Gata. I would definitely go back.

You should consider pulling up the brambles around the mobile homes and the tent and RV sites—it’s a shame, because the campground is pleasant and quiet, the restaurant is welcoming, the waitstaff are friendly, and we had a great meal,

Amazing stay

We had a wonderful week here at the campground.

Check-in went smoothly; the reception staff was a bit brief but still friendly. The campsite was easy to find using the map and was extremely spacious.

Despite the campground being fully booked during peak season, it didn’t feel crowded or packed. The restrooms were surprisingly clean given how busy the campground was; there were occasional moderate lines, but I didn’t find them particularly bothersome or unreasonable.

Although it didn’t bother me personally, the first few nights we had a lot of noise from a village festival near the campground. This wasn’t mentioned on the website, during booking, or at the front desk—only on a few A4 sheets posted near the restroom building. It would have been better if this had been communicated more clearly.

As for noise, keep in mind that the campground is not only located near the highway but that airplanes also occasionally roar overhead on their way to the airport. The highway didn’t bother me at all, but the airplanes were quite annoying at times.

As for the restrooms, they were clean, but I did notice that the ventilation grilles in all the showers were either missing or so clogged with dirty dust that they probably don’t work very well anymore. And at the dishwashing stations, it wouldn’t hurt to give the windows and lights—which are covered in cobwebs and debris—a quick sweep with a broom. These are minor details that aren’t super important, but there was more grime than could be attributed to a single busy high season. A small area for improvement that would make the otherwise neat campground look just that little bit nicer and wouldn’t take much time at all.

Furthermore, not a single staff member greeted me back all week when I wished them a good morning, afternoon, or evening. On the one hand, I can imagine that if the entire campground wishes you “good morning” 100 times, you might get a little tired of it, but it felt a bit strange to wish someone a good morning and only get a completely cold stare in return—or not even be deemed worthy of a glance at all. When checking out, the lady behind the counter didn’t seem to speak any Dutch at all, and I didn’t get more than an “okay, bye.”

Also, despite the 36-degree heat wave, the pool was actually quite cold—fine for a quick dip followed by drying off in the sun, but it wasn’t really suitable for a nice afternoon of swimming. As for the crowds, it wasn’t as bad as I’d expected. The pool area is spacious and offers plenty of room to sit in the shade under the umbrellas.

All in all, there are a few minor issues that, with a little effort, could have made the stay just that little bit better, but overall the stay was really great and definitely worth repeating.

The campground and the staff definitely deserve huge praise for how they manage to keep the campground so clean and well-maintained in the middle of a packed peak season and a dry heat wave—all at very reasonable prices!

After several years of not visiting, we returned with our family to Norcenni Girasole, and overall it was a very positive experience.
The part that impressed us the most was definitely the pool area, especially the upper section, which has been renovated and enhanced with new, beautiful, and engaging play features for the kids. In fact, we spent most of our vacation there. The pools are well-maintained, clean, and are undoubtedly one of the resort’s main attractions.

However, there are a few areas that we think could be improved. The restaurants, for example, didn’t quite meet our expectations in terms of value for money, while in the cottages it would be helpful to pay a little more attention to cleanliness and attention to detail.

Overall, though, the vacation went very well, and we were happy to be back. It’s a resort with a wide range of amenities, especially for those traveling with children, and the pools are definitely the real highlight of Norcenni Girasole.

We stayed at the Tiny Lodge (which was very comfortable) on the forest side for a week in August during the wildfires in Biscarosse and Cap Ferret.
It was a very quiet and relaxing place with a helpful and reassuring staff.

This park truly deserves to be called a top-notch park. The fishing ponds are ideal and teeming with fish. The staff are very friendly, and the cottages are extremely clean. There was even Rituals hand soap and shampoo in the bathroom and toilet. The air conditioning worked perfectly and kept the accommodation nice and cool.
The restaurant, bowling alley, and BBQ rentals were all excellent and reasonably priced.

In short, definitely a park we’ll be coming back to!

We found Altomincio to be one of the nicer resorts run by the Hu organization.
The pools are really great—lots of water fun.
Everything around the park is well-maintained and tidy.
Friendly and helpful staff.
The entertainment is great for young children, though it could start a little earlier.
Live music is good.
The ice cream is delicious :)
The car park is sheltered, which is great for safety, but there’s less space for driving around.

Other than that, don’t come here for peace and quiet because you won’t find it—it’s packed. In our opinion, the music is way too loud everywhere—even all the way to the cottages. Unnecessarily crowded and noisy—it’s not a festival.
The water in the big pool sometimes smelled like urine and looked green.
There are also minor issues around the pools, and they aren’t always safe due to the risk of slipping.
The food was decent—not bad, but not amazing either.

There wasn’t enough for teens aged 13 and up to do. A soccer/basketball/volleyball court, a fun disco, or evening entertainment for older teens—some kind of indoor hangout—would give the campground more potential.

Our biggest disappointment was the cabin >> Hu Premium XL—it was really bad, spartan, and way too expensive for what you get. €275 per night.
Not enough hooks, cabinets, cutlery, or household items; no screen for privacy or sun protection. They really need to update this. We’ll never stay in a cottage like that again.

All in all, a nice campground, but it has more potential. It’s a shame they aren’t making the most of it.
