An absolute hygiene nightmare – House No. 5

I arrived at Landal de Peel today in high spirits, hoping to relax, but what a terrible disappointment. This cottage (No. 5) is truly an exceptionally filthy mess.

When I went to bed, I was shocked by one thing after another: the entire cottage is covered in cobwebs (on the walls, on the couch, in the bedrooms), and there are dozens of vibrating spiders. As if that weren’t bad enough, there are mold spots right next to the bed! The bathroom is just as filthy: yellow stains on the walls, a clogged exhaust fan, and a windowsill that was once white but is now black with dust and mold.

You’re supposed to relax here, but I’m sitting here with an intense sense of unease and frustration. It’s absolutely scandalous that this place is being rented out like this. Definitely skip house number 5!

The plot's dimensions are a complete misrepresentation, since right in the middle they've "installed" a metal bar to support the thatched roof, making it impossible to fully open an awning.In short: crammed into half the plot just to get some shade, while the other half is empty and in full sun—a completely absurd and nonsensical design. I didn’t file a complaint to save time, but I won’t be returning, despite the beach’s charm.

A beautiful and well-maintained campground. I heard from another guest that they had won the award for Campground of the Year in Croatia in 2026. It was certainly beautiful and well-kept, but also a bit pricey.

We’ve been coming back to Zelena Laguna time and again for many years. The new campsites and restroom facilities are truly impressive—modern, clean, and high-quality. It’s clear that a lot has been invested here.

Unfortunately, the behavior of many guests—mostly Dutch—has deteriorated so much in recent years that we’re now considering not returning in the future.

In our view, the lack of enforcement of the campground rules is particularly problematic. Shaded spots are reserved for hours on end, driveways are blocked with tables, dogs sometimes run unsupervised and off-leash toward the beach, and even the nudity ban isn’t enforced.

The worst situation, however, is on the promenade. It has now become a veritable gauntlet. Bicycles, e-scooters, and even motor scooters and ATVs zoom at high speeds among pedestrians. I myself was nearly run over by a cyclist and witnessed two cyclists collide near the rental shop. Teenagers and children also use the square’s streets as a racetrack with what are clearly modified e-scooters.

It is particularly disappointing that security personnel are regularly patrolling the promenade, yet we have never seen them intervene in cases of obvious violations—neither regarding nudity violations nor reckless cyclists, e-scooters, or other motorized vehicles on the promenade.

Zelena Laguna now charges high prices and is visibly investing in the campground. This makes it all the more important to consistently enforce safety and compliance with the rules. Anyone who endangers other guests or deliberately fails to follow the campground rules should be warned, regardless of their background, and expelled from the campground in the event of repeated violations.

It would truly be a shame if such a beautiful campground were to lose its good reputation. We very much hope that management takes this situation seriously, because we’d love to come back in the future. And if, on our next visit, we see that they’ve addressed the many negative issues that many people have been complaining about in popular Facebook groups, we’ll gladly give it 5 stars—because the campground deserves them.

A great and affordable campground, at least for tent camping. The pool is really nice. Food and shopping are also available and okay, but the prices there are a bit steep. All in all, it’s pretty good. The region has a lot to offer, but you have to drive quite a distance to reach the highlights. However, if you want to be right in the middle of Styria so you can explore in all directions, this is the place for you. Definite pluses at the campground are that electricity, water, and showers are included in the price (for the tent site). Laundry, at €5 per load, is a bit steep, though. Also, the drainage on the campground grounds is a bit of an adventure when it rains or there’s a thunderstorm. But overall, I’d still recommend it.

Upon arrival, we received excellent service at check-in—a big thumbs-up to the staff there. It’s a very large campground with plenty to do and discover. Outside the campground, there are nice little restaurants where you can enjoy a great meal. Rovinj is easy to reach by bike and is also a very charming town. If I had to mention one minor issue, it’s that perhaps more restroom facilities could be provided—or maybe I just didn’t find any other restroom block in the immediate vicinity. And my final comment—though this is really not the campground’s fault, unless they decide to ban them—is about those annoying electric scooters. There are far too many young children riding them around at high speeds, sometimes with two kids on a single scooter.

Very nice service; the staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, and the office staff at the marina were also very nice. The campground is beautiful, though unfortunately there was some dog waste, trash, and cigarette butts here and there. The RVs are parked very close together; everything is quite cramped. Some things were overpriced, and unfortunately, the fries weren’t very tasty. It was more like mayonnaise with fries—there was so much of it on all three servings that you had to dig through it to find the fries underneath. The tables, both outside and inside, were dirty.

We had a wonderful time as a family, and our mobile home was perfect with the air conditioning. The activities for all ages were a big hit with us, especially the teen club. Our two 12-year-olds took part in almost every activity. They came back smiling and always happy. For me, the campground’s biggest success is the activity clubs—especially the teen club. And the best part is that the kids loved becoming “friends” with the teen club counselor, Mekanie. Seriously, kudos to the teen club and the other clubs, and to Mekanie!

Okay, the price is pretty low compared to other parks. Still, there were a few issues with the 6-person cottage. It was reasonably clean, though the outside was a bit dirtier—there was a pan lying in the yard. Unfortunately, since it’s on the edge of the park, people walk right past your patio.Late at night, there was a strange noise; in the utility shed, there was a crawl space with a hatch where an animal had been having a field day—and it wasn’t just for one night, either. It is a forest, after all, but still.
The shower and toilet were very small and stuffy.
The park really revolves around the lake that’s part of it.
The supermarket was a pleasant surprise—not a huge selection, but varied and not expensive. The fresh croissants were delicious.
The surroundings are beautiful, but watch out for falling acorns—they’re definitely painful and can leave a dent.
In the end, I had a nice time with my wife and child.

We spent a week at this campground. When we arrived, a cheerful young woman came up to us. She told us she was part of the entertainment team and invited us to join in on the activities. So we joined in, and we really enjoyed it. Rebecca makes sure there’s a group of young people getting together at the campground. This made our experience here even more fun. Definitely recommended!😀

A really nice campground—quiet and peaceful, so you can sleep in. We really loved the themed evenings! Private restroom facilities are integrated with an outdoor kitchen and a refrigerator! Thumbs up!!
